Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned film which is high in light transmittance and permits proper controlling of the quantity of fransmitted light by providing the solid electro- coloring layer sandwiched by a pair of transparent electrodes on a flexible macromolecular film having light transmittance and further providing an antireflecting layer thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The solid electro-coloring layer comprising sandwiching an electrochromic layer and solid electrolyte layer with a pair of transparent electrodes formed by In2O3 semiconductor thin films or Au metal thin films on the film of flexible macromolecules (polyester, polycarbonate, etc.) having light transmittance of thickness about 200μ or less, thence an antireflecting film (low refractive index material is used when the transparent electrodes are semiconductor thin films and high refractive index material when metal thin films) is formed on the transparent electrode of the outer layer, whereby the captioned film is obtained. The abovementioned flexible film is superior in light transmittance and permits free controlling of the quantity of transmitted light when voltage is applied between the abovementioned both transparent electrodes.
