Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the dust collection performance of an electrostatic precipitator and prevent formation of excess SO3 causing secondary environmental pollution by pref. providing the function of converting SO2 into SO3 to a dry denitrator placed before the precipitator.
CONSTITUTION: After adding NH3 2, exhaust gas contg. NOx, SOx and dust from burner 1 is introduced into denitrator 3' at 300W400°C to convert SO2 into SO3 by the action of catalyst as well as to decompose the NOx into N2 and H2O by the action of the NH3 and catalyst. This catalyst consists of dry catalytic reduction system oxide denitration catalyst of active base metal, etc. and V2O5 type cpds., etc. having the function of converting SO2 into SO3. The exhaust gas treated in denitrator 3' is cooled to 100W170°C by heat exchange 4 and introduced into electrostatic precipitator 5 to remove the dust. The contact area of denitrator 3' is so regulated that part of SO2 in exhaust gas is converted into SO3 in a quantitative range required to maintain the dust collection performance of precipitator 5 and creating no trouble due to a SO3 leak from the system.
