Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a fitting weld between a fluid separator's high speed rotary body's cylindrical section and end plate with a corrosion resistant protective coating without harming (or deteriorating) its basic strength and function.
CONSTITUTION: A high speed rotary body's cylindrical section 1 and an end plate 12 are made of special steel. An outer circumferencial surface of the end plate 12 is provided with a cylindrical-section-fitting surface whose axial length l is relatively short and which has a prescribed tightening allowance, and an entire area of this cylindrical-section-fitting surface is joined by electronical beam welding, etc to form a weld A. The end plate is chamferred from top end B of the fitting surface at an inclination angle θ. After completion of welding between the cylindrical section 1 and the end plate 12, acorrosion resistant protective film 9 is formed on inner surface of the weld with a prescribed thickness. For the protective film 9, a thin film of aluminum or steam oxide having good corrosion resistivity to corrosive gas is used.
