Abstract
PURPOSE: The effective adsorption area of magnetic material with respect to the rotary disk of a magnetic separator is increased, the amount of magnetic material collected from the water under treatment is remarkably increased, and the adsorbed magnetic material is taken out efficiently.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water supplied from inlet 10 to treatment tank 18 passes the back side of the transport passage of scraper 3 and flows in the passage formed in the gap on rotary disk 1, the most part of which is immersed in water, in the rotational direction of disk 1 as shown by the arrow. Magnetic material contained in the waste water is arrested during this time by magnet 12 on disk 1, and with the rotation of disk 1, the arrested magnetic material is scraped off into the transport passage by scraper 3. Scraped magnetic material 17 is moved up by gilled belt 2 along scraper 3 to the upper part of tank 18, and then it is separated from belt 2 by another scraper and is discharged outside via shoot 9. Water flows from the gap between belt 2 and the transport passage and is discharged from waste water outlet 11.
