Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve filtering capacity and durability (or service life) by forming on the surface of porous body a layer containing fine particles of magnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a porous body 1 is provided with a layer 4 containing fine particles or slim pieces 5 of magnetic substance or consisting only of magnetic body, and also with a passage 3 connecting penetratively between spaces in the porous body or pores 7 and many pores of the porous body. Top layer 4 of the magnetic body allows fluid being filtered to flow to the outside through opening on the porous body's surfce and also to enclose it inside. In other words, opening of the passage 3 is controlled by the layer 4 of magnetic body. And therefore, by forming a magnetic layer 4 of an appropriate thichness on the surface of the magnetic body 1, it is to become possible to ensure improvement of filtering capacity and durability of a filter.
