Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a phosphate film with no abnormlly grown part on a steel product and enhance the printability and corrosion resistance of the product by plating the product in a zinc electroplating bath the lead content of which is limited to below 3 ppm. CONSTITUTION:A zinc electroplating bath is prepared consisting of zinc sulfate, ammonium sulfate, etc. and contg. lead limited to below 3 ppm. A steel sheet or the like is plated in the bath, washed with water, and treated with a phosphating agent to form a phosphate film. By this method uniform appearance with no abnormally grown part is given to the film, and a zinc-electroplated, phosphated steel product is obtd. having superior printability and corrosion resistance.
