Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain coerulein and its analogs of high purity and activity, which are physiologically active peptides and function test agents for bile ducts and pancreas, by easy punification with sligth side reactions, by removing protective groups form novel decapeptide derivatives or their salts having the protective groups.
CONSTITUTION: Novel decapeptide derivatives of formula I: [X1 H, amino protective group; Y1 and Y2 are carboxyl protective group; Y3 is NH2 or carboxyle protective group; Y1 and Y2 are carboxyle protective group. Y3 is NH2 or carboxyl protective group; Z1 is H or hydroxyl protective group in the side chain, -SO3X (X is alkali metal; base, e.g. triethylamine, etc., or H); Z2 is H or hydroxyl protective group in the side chain] or thier salts are subjected to removal of protective groups, preferably the novel compound of formula II: (Z is benzyloxycarbonyl; Bzl is benzyl group) or their salts are cotalytically reduced, to give coerulein and its analogs. The novel starting compounds of formaula I are obtained by fragment condensation of novel compounds of formula III: (Y4 is OH or methyl ester, etc.) with novel compounds of formula IV
