Abstract

PURPOSE: To inhance the maneuverability and concurrently prevent a deformed copy by automatically recognizing the pattern on an original document in the copier so as to determine the paper size, and checking the state where the document is set.
CONSTITUTION: When original document 15 is set by making electric power ON, micro-computer 20 drives controller 21 to input pattern information of the document by CCD22. The micro-computer 20 recognizes the pattern of the document 15 with vidio signal from CCD to determine the paper size such that one of paper cassettes 11W14 is made to be active, and print start enable signal is issued to be on standby till the next instruction of copying action. If the document 15 is not regularly set, the micro-computer 20 detects its anomaly due to video signal from CCD20 to issue an alarm that the document is not regularly set by light emitting diode and warning buzzer, etc., so that deformed copy can be prevented by prohibiting the print start
