Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain number plate for watch capable of being provided with designed color or figures at post-processing line in which the one side or both sides of glass or ceramic is covered with a metal or a metal oxide to develop color upon heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The one side or both sides of a glass or ceramic plate which is already processed as number plate for watch are coated with a color-developing agent containing a metal, e.g., Au, Ag, Cr, Fe, etc., or an alloy or an oxide of these metals, together with, as needed, a supporter, e.g., SiO, SiO2, TiO2, Bi2O3, PbO, etc., using vacuum deposition, ion plating, sputtering method, etc. The coating is made in a less than 1μ thickness, and the figuring is made by a masking method. Subsequently, it is subjected to a heating treatment at 100 to 1,000°C to develop color. Thus, desired figure or color designs can be attained at our disposal.
