Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a vulcanized rubber having physical properties comparable to the conventional rubber, in a short time, without staining the mold even by a high temperature vulcanization, by adding a 2-mercaptobenzimidazole or its Zn salt to rubber, and vulcanizing in a mold.
CONSTITUTION: A vulcanizable composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weigth of rubber, (B) 0.01W2, pref. 0.1W0.9 part of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole or its Zn salt, (C) pref. 0.3W3 parts of a vulcaization accelerator such as thiazoles, guanidines, etc. which is effective to assist the activity of a mold stain inhibitor, and (D) proper amounts of a vulcanization promoter, dispersant, anti-oxidant, etc. The composition is vulcanized by heating in a mold at 175 to 200°C.
