Abstract
PURPOSE: To control decomposition of oxidizable malodorants in exhaust gas or waste liquor with an aq. soln. of HClO or the like so that the agent is present in an amt. corresponding to a malodorant concn. change by selectively determining the amt. of the agent contained with an absorptiometer.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas contg. oxidizable malodorants such as H2S and NH3 is introduced into the lower part of reactor 1, countercurrently contacted to a treating soln. contg. HClO or its salt from circulation tank 2, and exhausted from the top of reactor 1 as clean gas. On the other hand, part of the treating soln. is introduced into electrolytic cell 5 through pump 4 to regenerate the modified product (NaCl) of the deactivated agent by non-diaphragm electrolysis, and the regenerated soln. is returned to tank 2. Part 6 of the treating soln. from tank 2 is fed to absorptiometer 9 through pump 7 and filter 8, and the amt. of the agent contained is determined. The measured value is converted into an electrical signal or the like with converter 10 and sent to cell 5 to control the operational condition of the cell.
