Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in high frequency reproduction sensitivity by interposing a for sterite layer as a gap spacer between the gap opposing faces of core materials in the magnetic head.
CONSTITUTION: Cores 2, 3 formed with a 2MgO.SiO2 film 1 are bonded by using glass 4 with the film 1 being held sandwiched as a spacer, wherein 2NgO.SiO2 will not deteriorate at up to 1000°C, hence bonding by the use of high melting point glass of high mechanical strength is feasible. The coefficient of thermal expansion of 2MgO.SiO2 is equal to that of ferrite and its Vickers hardness is higher than that of ferrite, thus it can sufficiently satisfy mechanical strength, too. This enables the head of superior high-frequency reproduction sensitivity to be obtained in high density recording wherein the shortest recording wavelength is 1μm or under.
