Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce noise and improve durability by shaping a slit to absorb a valve-seating impact which decreases oil from a brake room with descent of a plunger.
CONSTITUTION: A brake room 10 is shaped by a cylinder bore 8, its flange 9, and flange 7 of a plunger 6 and a slit 15 is on one of oil holes 13 to communicate a lubrication oil room 14 with the brake room 10. The slit 15 is shaped a triangle whose opening is regulated by the flange 9. When a cam shaft 1 turns to start lifting a lifter body 5, oil pressure in a hydraulic room 26 to force oil into the brake room 10 through the slit 15. Oil in the hydraulic room 26 reduces in pressure due to outflow from a contraction hole 27. Lift of the plunger 6 depends on outflow of oil from the hydraulic room 26 which varies according to the speed of a turning cam.
