Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I: (R1 is monofunctional substituent, halogen, alkoxy group, etc.; m is 0, 1, or 2; (R1)m is H when m is 0, and two R1's may form a ring when m is 2; R2 is H, CH3, or C2H5; R3 is H, alkyl, phenyl, benzyl group, etc,; R4 is H or alkyl group).
EXAMPLE: 2-Carbamoyl-3-indoleacetic acid.
USE: Intermediates for antiphlogistics, antithrombotics, psychotropic drugs, etc.
PROCESS: An acid anhydride of formula II is reacted with the corresponding sodium alkoxide or potassium alkoxide to form a reaction product, which is reacted with an amine of formula III in the presence of a condensing agent, e.g. dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, and, if necessary, hydrolyzed to form the objective compound of formula I.
