Abstract

PURPOSE: To render uniform the air fuel ratio and charging efficiency of cylinders of an engine, by connecting the central parts of adjacent branches of an intake manifold to each other.
CONSTITUTION: The central parts of the manifold branches 8aW8d located between a manifold gathering part 7 and intake ports 5aW5d and connected to each other through communication passages 14, 17, 20 to make the air fuel ratio very uniform. If the diameter of the communication passages 14, 17, 20 is set at almost a half of that of the manifold branches 8aW8d, the degree of uniformity of the air fuel ratio is optimized.
