Abstract
PURPOSE:To reproduce a carrier wave by subjecting amplitude phase modulation signals to multilevel discrimination in the receiving side and adding a unit which holds the control signal in the preceding signal pattern in case that a signal pattern having a large phase error in comparison with four-phase modulation signals. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of voltage control oscillator 29 is used as a reference phase to detect in-phase and orthogonal components of amplitude phase modulation signal 100 by phase detectors 20 and 21. These detection signals are discriminated by four-level discriminators 24 and 25 obtain four sequence binary signals 110, 120, 130 and 140. The amplitude phase modulation wave delayed by delay line 23 is modulated reversely by large-amplitude four-phase modulation detection signals 110 and 120 in four-phase modulator 26, and the output is inputted to phase detector 27. The output of oscillator 29 is compared with the output of reverse modulator 26 in phase by phase detector 27, and the output is gated by the output signal of logical operation circuit 30 in hold circuit 31, and simultaneously, control information is held to control oscillator 29.
