Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the DC bias magnetic field of magnetic head readily to an optimum value with less evolution of heat by applying a bias magnetic field for fine adjustment to a magnetoresistance effect element to which the DC bias magnetic field is being applied by a permanent magnet.
CONSTITUTION: An approximately optimum bias DC magnetic field is applied to a magnetoresistance effect thin film element 1 by a permanent magnet 3 which is integrally formed within a head constituting body 6. When the DC magnetic field in the same direction is applied by applying current to the coil 5 of the element 1, the bias magnetic field of the element 1 is readily adjusted to optimum with less power consumption hence less quantity of heat evolved.
