Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a large amt. of molten slag to be treated in a narrow site and to enable the potential heat of the slag to be recovered in cooling by allowing molten slag to flow down onto a circular cooling disc from a spout turning along the disc after which the slag is cooled, solidified and crushed. CONSTITUTION:Molten slag 31 flowing from the upper part of fixed spout 1 is shifted to turning spout 2 turning clockwise on circular cooling disc 5 with turning stand 15. Next slag 31 flows down from the tip of spout 2 onto disc 5, and it is thinly extended owing to the inclination of disc 5 and cooled with cooling water flowing through cooling pipes 6. The extended molten slag is solidified to solid slag while giving most of its potential heat to the disc and releasing part of the heat into the air. A thin layer of solid slag 31a is then crushed with crushing roller 19 rotating on the layer as stand 15 moves. Ballast 31b formed is discharged with scraper 22 toward the center of disc 5.
