Abstract

PURPOSE: To relieve the input to a motor compressor and to save energy by driving the compressor by a stepless variable-speed motor, controlling the revolution rate of the compressor, and controlling the delivery volume.
CONSTITUTION: In an air conditioner constituting a heating cycle, the refrigerant pipe of a room heat exchanger (condenser) is fitted with a temperature detector 5 as a load detector so as to measure the temperature of the refrigerant which condenses in the room heat exchanger. The temperature detector 5 is connected with a speed signal generator 6 which generates signals as shown in the figure: a maximum revolution rate where the condensing temperature is below TMIN ; a minimum revolution rate, which is determined by the conditions such as oil lubrication in the compressor, where the condensing temperature is above TMAX ; and gradually decreasing revolution rates where the condensing temperature is between TMIN and TMAX. A motor compressor 8 is controlled by these signals through a driver 7, and the delivery volume is varied.
