Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deposition and blocking of coating powder in a spraygun, by making the outer wall of a hollow chamber porous, and introducing air into the spraygun through the porous wall. CONSTITUTION:The main body of an electrostatic powder spraying gun 8 is provided with a hollow chamber 7 extending to the end of the gun. The hollow chamber 7 is connected with an air inlet 1, and the outer wall thereof is made of porous material such as polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon, etc. Air (pref. dehumidified air) is introduced into the chamber 7 from the air inlet 1, and blasted through the whole porous wall 4. The spraying gun 8 is thus covered with the air stream, which results in the prevention of powder deposition as well as the cooling of the spray gun 8.
