Abstract
PURPOSE:To stably obtain a low strength hot rolled mild steel steet of good quality by restricting the final finishing temp. and the coiling temp. in hot rolling of a slab of a low carbon aluminum killed steel, etc. of a specific compsn. CONSTITUTION:A bloomed or continuous-cast slab of a low carbon aluminum killed steel consisting of C<=0.10%, Si<=0.10%, Mn; 0.05-0.45%, sol. Al; 0.010-0.120%, N; 0.0020-0.010% and the balance iron contg. inevitable components is directly hot rolled or heated to to 1050-1200 deg.C and hot rolled. The final finishing temp. in the hot rolling is regulated to 750-850 deg.C to finish the rolling at a state in which the ferrite grains are applied with working strain, and coiling is carried out at above 550 deg.C to facilitate recrystallization and grain growth. By this method a low strength hot rolled mild steel sheet is stably obtd. having a tensile strength below 31 kg/mm<2>, and the slab heating unit can be reduced considerably.
