Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible changing over of three or more optical fibers without damaging the optical fibers by rotating a focusing type optical element interposed between the optical fibers with the position away from its optical central axis as its central axis thereby changing the path of light beams. CONSTITUTION:In the embodiment of changing over the light from one optical fiber 1 to four optical fibers 2, the end faces of the optical fibers 1, 2 are respectively disposed in the position of equal magnification imaging equidistantly from the end face of a focusing type optical transmission body 3 and the optical fiber 2 is disposed on the circumference of a radius 2r from the extension line of the central axis of the optical fiber 1. In addition, the focusing type optical transmission body 3 is provided turnably about the central axis of the optical fiber 1 disposed away at a distance (r) from its optical central axis and therefore by rotating the focusing type transmission body 3 by a suitable angle, the optical fiber 1 and an arbitrary optical fiber 2 may be optically connected.
