Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the writing speed with the use of a simple construction by using an auxiliary magnetic pole made of a permanent magnet, a main magnetic pole made of such a magnetic material as will experience its phase shift in dependence upon temperature, and heating means for the main magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:The transition point of such a magnetic material as will experiences its phase transition between anti- and ferromagnetic properties and anti-ferromagnetic and Ferri magnetic properties in dependence upon the temperature change and as makes up a main magnetic pole 3 is set at a room temperature. A temperature controller is so operated as to maintain the magnetic head as a whole at a temperature lower than the room temperature. At the same time, slith heat is fed from a heater 4. As a result, the phase trnsition abruptly takes place with a temperature range of 2 to 3 deg.C so that the magnetic pole 3 is converted into a ferromagnetic or Ferri magnetic element and is highly magnetized at its leading end by the magnetic field from the auxiliary magnetic pole 1 made of a permanent magnet. As a result, a strong vertical magnetic field is established between the magnetic poles 1 and 3 so that a magnetic medium 2b is magnetized vertically and written. Thus, it is possible to increase the writing speed with the use of a simple construction.
