の可燃ゴミを燃焼させる際、そのエネルギーを利用して
生ゴミを焼却させようとするものであり、基本的には焼
却炉燃焼室上位に生ゴミ用の棚を設けて焼却すればよい
わけですが、生ゴミの種類が多種多様であり次の問題が
あります。 (イ)棚を網目状にした場合、炎がよく通り生ゴミはよ
く焼けるが、残飯等のように小さい生ゴミは網目より落
ちてしまい燃やせないし、水を含んだ生ゴミの場合、直
接下の可燃ゴミに水をかけてしまうし、また網目の表面
に燃えカスがこびり付いてしまうという欠点がある。 (ロ)棚を一枚の鋼板とした場合、どんな生ゴミでも乗
せられるが、直接の炎で焼けないため乾燥に時間がかか
り焼却が困難であるし、また表面に燃えカスがこびり付
くといった欠点がある。 以上のような課題もあり、生ゴミを容易に安価な焼却炉
で清潔に処置したいという要望は非常に高くなっており
ます。特にゴミの有料化が検討されている今日では、よ
り強い要望となってきています。尚、現在市販されてい
る生ゴミ処理機等がありますが、勿論生ゴミのみの処理
