Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase dust quantity capable of being contained in a dust collection bag by expanding the dust collection bag when an electric blower is operated, by using a dust collection bag compression plate which expands the dust collection bag from the outside when the electric blower is operated and compressing the dust collection bag from the outside when the electric blower is stopped. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch is turned off after a cleaner is used, a control part stops the electric blower 10, and also, rotates a motor 24 for dust collection bag compression operation, and transmits a force to a rack 27 via gears 25, 26, and moves an interlocking dust collection bag compression plate 8 in the direction of dust collection bag, which compresses the dust collection bag 7. While, when the power switch of this vacuum cleaner is turned on, the control part operates the electric blower 10, and simultaneously, rotates the motor 24 for dust collection bag compression plate operation, and transmits the force to the rack 27 via the gears 25, 26, and releases the compression of the dust collection bag 7 by moving an interlocking dust collection bag compression plate 8 in the direction of electric blower. A compression release operation is completed by disengaging the rack 27 from the gear 26 just before the compression plate 8 comes in contact with a partition 3.

2. Description of the Related Art Generally, an electric vacuum cleaner is constructed to collect dust sucked from a suction port in a dust bag housed in a dust collection chamber. In this case, in order to facilitate the treatment of the collected dust, if dust is accumulated in the dust bag and the dust bag is clogged, set the electric vacuum cleaner to warm air circulation and raise the temperature of the electric blower. A technique has been proposed in which the heat-shrinkable member provided around the main body of the dust collecting bag is shrunk by the hot air to compress the dust in the dust collecting bag to reduce the size of the dust collecting bag so that it can be easily disposed (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-146384).

In the conventional vacuum cleaner, since the suction air of the electric blower passes through the dust collecting bag and spreads the dust collecting bag, the capacity of the dust collecting bag is irrespective of the amount of collected dust. It becomes almost constant. Therefore, in order to increase the dust collecting capacity, it is necessary to upsize the dust collecting bag. However,
If such a configuration is adopted, there is a problem in that the dust bag becomes bulky and cannot be easily taken out from the dust collection chamber.

Therefore, the above-mentioned conventional technique (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-1
As shown in 46384), the dust collecting bag after the dust collection is compressed by heat to reduce the bulk of the dust collecting bag. However, even with this conventional technique, the amount of dust to be sucked is determined by the capacity of the dust bag, and the dust in the dust bag is thermally compressed, miniaturized, and disposed of. Therefore, the volume of the dust collecting chamber is the same as that of the conventional one, and does not contribute to downsizing of the vacuum cleaner.

Attempts have been made to reduce the size of the vacuum cleaner by applying pressure to the outside of the dust collecting bag to compress the dust, but if the dust is discarded while the dust collecting bag is compressed,
There is a problem that the dust bag must be taken out against the compressing force. Furthermore, with a compression mechanism using a spring, when the dust bag approaches the full capacity, the dust bag does not completely fill the volume of the dust collection chamber, but the dust blocks the area near the suction port and collects it. There is a problem that the limit is reached without using the entire dust chamber capacity. further,
In the case of the above-mentioned compression mechanism, there is an inconvenience that it is difficult to understand the limit of the dust absorption amount.

Since the output of the pressure sensor 44 increases as the dust density in the dust bag increases, the control unit (not shown) shows the signal from the pressure sensor 44 during the cleaner operation as shown in FIG. When the predetermined compression pressure value c is exceeded, the latch release electric motor 47 is operated. The cam 48 is rotated by the drive of the latch release electric motor 47, and the latch release lever 49 is opposed to the force of the spring 46 as shown in FIG. 5C.
Goes up, and the latch 45 is disengaged from the pin 50 (corresponding to the compression releasing means). Therefore, the spring support portion 51 is moved to the electric blower side by the pulling force of the spring 9, and the force applied by the spring 9 to the dust bag compression plate 8 is released. This prevents the dust from being concentrated near the suction port (not shown) due to the spring 9 being too strong and the dust bag 7 not inflating to fill the volume of the dust collection chamber, thereby reducing the suction air volume. be able to.
