Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は光学的読み出しを行なう再生専用型光ディスク
に関する。
〔従来の技術とその課題〕
再生専用型光ディスクは低コストな大容量の記録媒体と
して既に広く実用化されている。特に音楽再生用、画像
再生用として普及がめざましい。
再生専用型光ディスクの構成は記録信号に相当するビッ
ト(凹凸)を表面に形成した透明基板上に反射膜(通常
Al)を蒸着し、さらに樹脂による保護コートをしてな
る。
しかしながら、この構成には耐候性に問題が残ってい
る。例えば、温湿度の急激な変化を与えた場合の基板の
膨張、収縮に伴う反射膜の剥離または高温、高湿下での
反射膜の酸化等は直接エラーレートの増加とつながり、
光ディスクの信頼性を大きく低下させる。
特に高温、低温等の特殊環境下における使用をおこなう
場合、上記耐候性の問題は非常に重要になる。
〔課題を解決する為の手段〕
本発明者等は、上述の課題に鑑み、高耐候性を持った再
生専用型光ディスクを提供すべく鋭意検討した結果特定
の反射層を選択することにより非常に耐候性に優れたデ
ィスクが得られることを見出した。
〔発明の構成〕
本発明の要旨は、凹凸情報が形成された透明基板上に反
射層を設けてなる再生専用型光ディスクにおいて前記反
射層がTaを含有したAl合金からなることを特徴とする再
生専用型光ディスクに存する。
以下本発明を詳細に説明する。
本発明に用いられる基板は再生光を透過する為に透明な
ものであり、ガラスやガラス上にフォトポリマー樹脂を
塗布したもの又はポリカーボネート、ポリメチルメタク
リレート(PMMA)等の樹脂が好ましく用いられる。これ
らの基板はあらかじめ情報が記録されてある型(スタン
パー)の転写を行なったり、情報が記録されたマスクを
密着させてエッチングをすることにより、表面に情報に
相当する凹凸を形成することができる。基板の厚さは1.
2mmが標準である。
前記基板上に通常再生光を反射させる為の反射層を形成
するが、本発明においては反射層としてTaを含有するAl
合金を用いる。Taを含有するAl合金はAl単体の膜に比べ
耐食性に優れ、ディスクの高信頼性を確保することにな
る。Taの含有量としては好ましくは0.1〜15原子%(at
%)さらに好ましくは0.5〜10at%である反射層の膜厚
としては好ましくは300Å以上1μm以下、さらに好ま
しは500Å以上5000Å以下である。
多くの場合、さらに樹脂を用いた保護層がこの上に形成
される。樹脂としては紫外線硬化型やホットメルト型が
好ましく用いられる。この樹脂保護層の膜厚は好ましく
は3μm以上300μm以下さらに好ましくは5μm以上2
00μm以下である。
基板上に前記反射層を形成する方法としては通常の真空
蒸着法が好ましく用いられる。
すなわち、熱蒸着、電子ビーム蒸着、スパッタ蒸着等で
ある。
樹脂保護層を設けるには、スピンコート法、ロールコー
ト法等が用いられる。
〔実施例〕
以下に実施例をもって本発明をさらに詳細に説明する
が、本発明はその要旨を越えない限り以下の実施例に限
定されるものではない。
実施例1 トラッキング用のグループ及び凹凸情報を持った130mm
φのポリカーボネート基板をスパッタ装置内に導入し、
8×10-7Torr以下まで排気した後、Al97Ta3(at%)の
組成を持った合金ターゲットをArガスでDCスパッタリン
グすることにより基板上にAl96Ta4(at%)の組成を持
った反射層を1000Å形成した。組成の分析は螢光X線分
析を用いて行なった。このようにして得られたディスク
を70℃、90%RHの条件で1000時間の加速試験を行ない、
経時的にドロップインエラーレートを測定したところ増
加は1.6倍に止まった。結果を第1図に示した。
比較例1 実施例1と同様にして、基板上にAl単体の膜を1000Å成
膜した。このディスクを実施例1と同様に加速試験を行
なったところ全面に腐食が発生しエラーレートは測定不
能だった。結果を第1図に示した。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明の再生専用型光ディスクは耐候性に優れる。

ーレートの増加率を示したものである。図中(イ)は実
施例1の測定結果を、(ロ)は比較例1の測定結果を示
す。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】凹凸情報が形成された透明基板上に反射層
    を設けてなる再生専用型光ディスクにおいて、前記反射
    層がTaを含有したAl合金からなることを特徴とする再生
    専用型光ディスク。
  2. 【請求項2】前記反射層がTaを0.1〜15at%含有するAl
    合金であることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項記載
    の再生専用型光ディスク。
