[Detailed Description of the Invention] Industrial Application Field The present invention relates to a bias cloth used as a reinforcing material for composite materials.

Since bias cloth has threads extending diagonally, it is extremely easy to stretch in the length direction and width direction, and is easily distorted during handling. Therefore, in order to improve its handling properties, it is necessary to stop the bias cloth from elongating, especially in the longitudinal direction.

Prior art As a means for this purpose,
The one described in Publication No. 41949 is known.
This is a bias cloth reinforced with glass fiber staple threads or rappet threads in the length direction.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, since the staple yarn and rappet yarn are themselves bent, they tend to expand and contract when force is applied to the bias cloth, and the dimensional stability of the bias cloth cannot be said to be good.

Furthermore, since glass fiber is brittle and has a small hook, it easily breaks when force is applied to the bias cloth. In addition, since glass fibers have low elongation, even slight differences in the tension of the staple threads or rappet threads can easily cause local elongation or breakage, causing the bias angle to change and the cloth to become distorted, resulting in unevenness.
Processing becomes difficult and the strength as a composite material becomes insufficient.

The present invention was devised in view of the above circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a bias cloth that has good dimensional stability and is suitable as a reinforcing material for composite materials.

Means for Solving the Problems The present invention provides a bias cloth made by diagonally crossing threads made of high-strength fibers, and a reinforcing thread made of high-strength fibers extending in the length direction of the bias cloth, on at least one side of the bias cloth. The invention is characterized in that the reinforcing thread is sewn to the bias cloth with a suture thread extending diagonally along the bias cloth.

The drawing shows a bias cloth 1 of the present invention, which is constructed by diagonally crossing threads 2 made of high-strength fibers such as carbon fibers, glass fibers, and aramid fibers.

On the surface of the bias cloth 1, a plurality of reinforcing threads 3 are arranged in parallel along the length direction of the bias cloth 1. The reinforcing thread 3 is made of high-strength fiber and must be disposed on at least one side of the bias cloth 1, but may be disposed on both sides.

This reinforcing thread 3 is sewn to the bias cloth 1 with a suture thread 4. Although the material of the suture thread 4 is not particularly limited, it is preferable to use the above-mentioned high-strength fibers. The suture thread 4 is then diagonally sewn into the bias cloth 1, and the reinforcing thread 3 is sewn onto the bias cloth 1 using the suture thread 4.

Function: In the present invention, the reinforcing yarn 3 prevents the bias cloth 1 from elongating in the length direction. Since this reinforcing thread 3 is not bent and is arranged linearly along the surface of the bias cloth 1, there is no expansion or contraction due to bending and elongation as in the conventional example, and there is no decrease in strength due to bending. Thus, the bias cloth 1 can be reliably prevented from elongating.

Furthermore, since the reinforcing thread 3 is sewn to the bias cloth 1 using the suture thread 4, the reinforcing thread 3 can be securely fixed to the bias cloth 1, and the reinforcing thread 3 will not be bent. Furthermore, since the tension of the reinforcing threads 3 is uniform, the bias cloth 1 does not undergo elongation or distortion, resulting in excellent dimensional stability.

Effects of the invention Therefore, according to the invention, the dimensional stability of the bias cloth 1 is extremely excellent. Therefore, when this bias cloth 1 is wound into a coil, when it is unwound and cut into a predetermined shape, and when it is combined with a synthetic resin to form a composite material,
Even when force is applied to the bias cross 1, no distortion occurs, and the handleability is excellent.

Furthermore, the composite material is reinforced not only by the bias cloth 1 but also by the reinforcing thread 3 and the suture thread 4, resulting in greater strength.

Further, by arranging the suture threads 4 in a grid pattern as shown in the drawings, the suture threads 4 serve as tracers when cutting the bias cloth 1, making the cutting easier.
