【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、腟排せつ物を吸収する
ための物品に関する。さらに詳細には、本発明は、中心
吸収性パッドの各縦方向端から延出するフラップを含む
中心吸収性パッドを具備する生理用ナプキンを有する腟
排せつ物を吸収するための物品に関する。各フラップの
本体は、フラップがその回りでそれ自体上に折り重なる
ことができる可撓軸（ｆｌｅｘｉｂｌｅ　ａｘｉｓ　）
を含む、生理用ナプキンは、各フラップと中心吸収性パ
ッドの縦方向端との接合線（ｌｉｎｅ　ｏｆ　ｊｕｎｃ
ｔｕｒｅ）において優先的に曲がる。生理用ナプキンが
使用するためにパンティー内にあるときには、各フラッ
プは、フラップと中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端との接合
線において上方に曲がって壁の基端を形成する。壁は、
パンティーの股部分の端の回りで折られるフラップの本
体内の可撓軸に延出する。本発明の生理用ナプキンは、
パンティー、体および衣服が汚れるのを防止し、一方同

【従来技術および発明が解決しようとする課題】米国特
許第２，７８７，２７１号明細書は、長方形の中心パッ
ドおよびパッドと一体的に作られた一対の横方向フラッ
プを具備する生理用ナプキンを記載している。これらの
フラップは、下方に折りかつ着用者の股の対向内面にも
たれて、通常衣服を汚すであろう中心パッドからのオー
バーフローを阻止するのに適している。この生理用ナプ
キンは、横方向フラップが中心パッドのそれぞれの側部

ろうように製造される。中心パッドは、柔軟な吸収性繊

向フラップ内に延出する芯本体を有する。ヒンジは、中

性パッドエレメントを具備する生理用ナプキンを記載し
ている。側部パネルは、中心エレメントと一体と形成さ
れるか、別体に形成され、かつ中心吸収性パッドの縦方
向端に固着され得る。中心エレメントと側部パネルとの
間の共通接合線は、各側部パネルが使用時に中心吸収性
パッドのそれぞれの横方向端の回りで折られ、かつ中心
エレメントの後側に向けて折られ得るように可撓性でな
ければならない。使用中、中心エレメントは、下着の股
部分の内側に接着的に固着され、そして各側部パネルは
、折り重ねられて下着の股部分の外面の少なくとも半分
を包囲する。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、液体透過性ト
ップシート、液体不透過性バックシートおよびトップシ
ートとバックシートとの間に介在された吸収性芯を具備
する中心吸収性パッドを包含する生理用ナプキンを有す
る腟排せつ物を吸収するための物品に関する。前記中心
吸収性パッドの各縦方向端（長手方向端）は、それから
延出するフラップを有する。生理用ナプキンは、各フラ
ップと中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端との接合線において
優先的に曲がる。各フラップは、好ましくは、液体透過
性トップシート、液体不透過性バックシートおよびトッ
プシートとバックシートとの間に介在された吸収性芯を
具備する。さらに、各フラップは、フラップをそれ自体
上に折り重ねさせる、フラップの本体内に配設された可
撓軸を有する。好ましい具体例においては、各フラップ
全部が可撓性である。
【０００６】本発明に用いる生理用ナプキンは、多数の
利益を提供する。生理用ナプキンが使用状態にあるとき
、ガスケット様シールが、フラップの本体内の可撓軸に
沿って使用者の体とフラップとの間に形成される。この
シールは、経血がフラップの本体内の可撓軸を超えて透
過することを防止するのを助長する。さらに別の利益は
、生理用ナプキンが各フラップと中心吸収性パッドの縦
方向端との接合線において優先的に曲がることから生ず
る。後述の固有バンチング（ｂｕｎｃｈｉｎｇ）は、後
述の流れチャンネル（ｃｈａｎｎｅｌｓ）を本質上中心
吸収性パッド内のだけ生じさせ、すなわち、フラップ内
には生じさせない、また、生理用ナプキンは、流れチャ
ンネルが形成される前には、後述のかなりの強制バンチ
ング（ｆｏｒｃｅｄ　ｂｕｎｃｈｉｎｇ　）に耐えるこ
とができる。さらに、強制バンチングが流れチャンネル
を生じさせるのに十分な程厳しいとしても、チャンネル
は、中心吸収性パッドに限定され、それ故ガスケットシ
ールは元のままであり、このようにして経血がフラップ
の本体内の可撓軸を超えて浸透することを防止するのを
助長する。最後に、強制バンチングが流れチャンネルが
中心吸収性パッドおよびフラップの両方で形成される程
大きいとしても、経血は、フラップの本体内の可撓軸を
超えて浸透しないようにされる。

【実施例】本発明に用いる生理用ナプキンの好ましい具
体例は、図１および図２に示される。生理用ナプキンは
、一般に参照番号１０によって言及される。生理用ナプ
キン１０は、一般に参照番号１２によって言及される中
心吸収性パッドを具備する。中心吸収性パッド１２は、
液体透過性トップシート１４、吸収性芯１６および液体
不透過性バックシート１８からなる。取外自在の剥離ラ
イナー２２によってカバーされる接着剤層２０が、バッ
クシート１８に固着されている。フラップ２４および２
４′は、中心吸収性パッド１２の各縦方向端から延出し
ている。フラップ２４および２４′は、好ましくは類似
の形状を有し、それ故フラップ２４の詳細な説明は、２
４′に適用可能であることが理解されるであろう。接合
線２６は、フラップ２４が中心吸収性パッド１２の縦方
向端と接合するところに形成される。フラップ２４は、

芯３０および液体不透過性フラップバックシート３２を

【０００８】トップシート１４は、液体透過性であり、
そして生理用ナプキン１０の使用時に使用者の皮膚に近
接する。トップシート１４は、適合性で柔軟な感じであ
り、使用者の皮膚を刺激しない。それは、この種の用途
用の通常の材料のいずれからも製造され得る。トップシ
ート１４として利用できる好適な材料の非限定例は、織
成および不織ポリエステル、ポリプロピレン、ナイロン
およびレーヨンおよび成形熱可塑性フィルムであり、成
形フィルムが好ましい。好適な成形フィルムは、米国特
許第４，３２４，２４６号明細書および米国特許第４，
３４２，３１４号明細書に記載されている。成形フィル
ムは、液体に対して透過性であり、依然として非吸収性
であるのでトップシート１４用に好ましい。このように

まであり、そして着用者にさらに心地良い。
【０００９】本発明の好ましい具体例においては、トッ
プシート１４の外面は、界面活性剤で処理される。トッ
プシート１４のシャフト面を界面活性剤で処理すること
は、このような表面をさらに親水性にさせ、液体が表面
が処理されなかった場合よりも迅速にトップシート１４
に浸透させる。このことは、経血がトップシート１４を
流れ去って吸収性芯１６によって吸収されずに衣服およ
び体を汚すであろう可能性を減少する。界面活性剤は、
トップシート１４の外面全体にわたって実質上一様かつ
完全に分布されることが好ましい。このことは、当業者
に周知の通常の技術のいずれによっても達成され得る。 例えば、界面活性剤は、噴霧することにより、バジング
により、または転写ロールの使用によりトップシート１
４に適用され得る。
【００１０】好ましい具体例においては、トップシート
１４の内面は、吸収性芯１６と接触関係で固着されてい
る。この接触関係は、液体が吸収性芯１６と接触してい
ない場合よりも迅速にトップシート１４に浸透させるよ
うにする。トップシート１４は、接着剤を好ましくは離
間限定領域においてトップシート１４の内面に塗布する
ことによって吸収性芯１６と接触状態に維持される。こ
のような目的で使用される好適な接着剤の例は、ペンジ
ルバニア州フィラデルフィアのローム・エンド・ハース
・カンパニー製のアクリル系乳濁液Ｅ−１８３３ＢＴお
よびミネソタ州セントポールのＨ．Ｂ．フラー・カンパ
ニー製のアクリル系乳濁液ＷＢ３８０５である。接着剤
は、界面活性剤がトップシート１４の外面に塗布される
のと同一の方法によって塗布され得る。
【００１１】図１および図２を再び参照すると、吸収性
芯１６は、トップシート１４とバックシート１８との間
に位置付けされることがわかる。吸収性芯１６は、経血
を吸収する吸収手段を提供する。吸収性芯１６は、一般
に圧縮性、形通り性であり、使用者の皮膚を刺激しない
。それは、このような目的で技術上使用される如何なる
材料からも構成できる。例えば、好適な材料は、ティシ
ュペーパーまたは繊維化粉砕パルプ（エアフェルトとし
て既知）の層であり、繊維化粉砕パルプが好ましい。
【００１２】バックシート１８は、液体に対して不透過
性であり、従って吸収性芯１６から絞り出されることの
ある経血が使用者の体または衣服を汚すのを防止する。 このような目的で技術上使用される如何なるバックシー
ト材料も、本発明で利用できる。好適な材料は、エンボ
スまたは非エンボスポリエチレンフィルムおよび積層テ
ィシュである。
【００１３】バックシート１８の外面は、接着剤２０で
被覆される。接着剤２０は、中心吸収性パッド１２をパ
ンティーの股部分内に固着させる手段を提供する。この
ような目的で技術上使用される如何なる接着剤またはグ
ルーも、本発明で使用でき、感圧接着剤が好ましい。好
適な接着剤は、センチュリー・アドヘシブズ・コーポレ
ーション製のセンチュリー（Ｃｅｎｔｕｒｙ　）Ａ−３
０５−ＩＶおよびナショナル・スターチ・カンパニー製
のインスタント・ロック（Ｉｎｓｔａｎｔ　Ｌｏｋ　）
３４−２８２３である。 また、生理用ナプキン１０が使用状態に置かれる前に、
感圧接着剤２０は、取外自在の剥離ライナー２２でカバ
ーされて接着剤２０が使用前に乾燥したりパンティーの
股部分以外の表面に粘着しないようにすべきである。こ
のような目的で通常使用される如何なる商業上入手可能
な剥離ライナーも、本発明で利用できる。好適な剥離ラ
イナーの非限定例は、アクロシル・コーポレーション製
のＢＬ３０ＭＧ−Ａシロックス（Ｓｉｌｏｘ　）および
ＢＬ３０ＭＧ−Ａシロックス４Ｐ／Ｏである。
【００１４】中心吸収性パッド１２は、本質上如何なる
寸法も有することができる。しかしながら、接合線２６
，２６′間の中心吸収性パッド１２の幅は、比較的全く
狭いことが好ましい。パンティーの股幅は、一般に約７
．５ｃｍである。接合線２６，２６′間の中心吸収性パ
ッド１２の幅が、パンティー股の幅よりも広いならば、
後述のように壁（ｗａｌｌ）は形成されにくい。壁なし
では、本発明における生理用ナプキンの多数の利益は、
得られない。さらに、一般に、中心吸収性パッド１２が
狭ければ狭いほど、壁はより長い。
【００１５】生理用ナプキン１０の全形状および使用は
中心吸収性パッド１２を体との接近状態に維持させるの
で、狭い中心吸収性パッド１２は有効でもあることにも
留意すべきである。中心吸収性パッド１２のこのような
接近は、パッドをあるべきところ、すなわち、腟口にお
いて体に非常に近いところに正確に位置付ける。中心吸
収性パッド１２は、中心吸収性パッド１２に沿って流れ
る機会を持つ前に大部分の経血を吸収できる。このよう
に、中心吸収性パッド１２が広いことには何の利点もな
い。接合線２６，２６′間の中心吸収性パッド１２の幅
は、好ましくは約１〜約１１．５ｃｍ、さらに好ましく
は約２〜約７ｃｍ、最も好ましくは約２〜約５ｃｍであ
る。
【００１６】中心吸収性パッド１２は、吸収すべき経血
の全量よりもかなり大きい吸収能力を有する必要はない
。このように、中心吸収性パッド１２は、狭いことに加
えて、比較的薄いことができる。さらに、狭くかつ薄い
中心吸収性パッド１２は、使用者に極めて心地良い。
【００１７】図１および図２を再び参照すると、フラッ
プトップシート２８は、液体透過性であって、液体をフ
ラップトップシート２８を通して容易に浸透させる。さ
らに、それは、適合性であり、かつ着用者の皮膚を刺激
しない。フラップトップシート２８は、この目的で使用
される通常の材料のいずれからでも製造され得る。前記
のようなトップシート１４として使用できるのと同一の
材料が、フラップトップシート２８用に使用され得る。 また、トップシート１４の場合のように、そして同一の
理由で、フラップトップシート２８は、界面活性剤で処
理でき、かつフラップ吸収性芯３０と接触関係にあるよ
うに固着され得る。このことは、前記のように達成され
得る。
【００１８】フラップ吸収性芯３０は、フラップトップ
シート２８とフラップバックシート３２との間に位置付
けられる。フラップ吸収性芯３０は、吸収性芯１６によ
って吸収されない経血を吸収する手段を提供する。フラ
ップ吸収性芯３０は、一般に圧縮性、形通り性であり、
かつ使用者の皮膚を刺激しない。それは、前記のような
中心吸収性芯１６を製造するのに使用できる材料のいず
れからも製造され得る。
【００１９】フラップトップシート３２は、液体に対し
て不透過性であり、それによってフラップ吸収性芯３０
から絞り出される経血が使用者の体または衣服を汚すの
を防止する。フラップバックシート３２は、前記のよう
なバックシート１８を製造するのに使用できる材料のい
ずれからも製造され得る。
【００２０】フラップ接着剤３６は、フラップバックシ
ート１８の外面に塗布される。フラップ接着剤３６は、
パンティーの股部分の端の回りに囲まれた後にフラップ
２４を所定位置に維持するのを助けるのに使用される。 生理用ナプキン１０が、使用のためにパンティー内に置
かれるとき、フラップ接着剤３６は、パンティーの中心
股領域の内方部分または外方部分、または他のフラップ
の液体透過性上層に固着される。接着剤２０用に使用さ
れるのと同一の材料が、フラップ接着剤３６用にも使用
され得る。また、接着剤２０の場合のように、フラップ
接着剤３６は、好ましくは取外自在のフラップ剥離ライ
ナー３８でカバーされる。剥離ライナー２２用に使用さ
れるのと同一の剥離ライナー材料が、フラップ剥離ライ
ナー３８用にも使用され得る。
【００２１】図１および図２に示すように、トップシー
ト１４およびフラップトップシート２８は、シーム３９
に沿って、それぞれバックシート１８およびフラップバ
ックシート３２に固着されている。シーム３９はこの目
的で技術上通常使用される如何なる手段、例えば、接着
、クリンプ加工または熱シールによっても形成され得る

プ２４は可撓軸３４を含む。後述のように、フラップ２
４は、使用時に、可撓軸３４に沿ってパンティーの股部
分の端の回りに折られる。可撓軸３４は、フラップの本
体内に配置され、接合線２６に沿っていないことが必須
である。可撓軸３４が接合線に沿っていたならば、後述
のように、生理用ナプキン１０はフラップがそれ自体上
に折り重ねられることのできる別の軸を有していないの
で、壁は形成されないであろう。
【００２３】フラップ２４は、フラップ２４がそれ自体
上に折り重なることができるように可撓軸３４に沿って
可撓性であることが必須である。このような可撓性は、
良好なガスケット様シールをフラップ２４内の外方折り
目の端と使用者の体との間に形成させる。それは、また
、フラップ２４の外方部分（可撓軸３４を超える部分）
が使用者の脚をすりむかないように、可撓軸３４を超え
るフラップの部分をパンティー以下に折らせる。
【００２４】多数の方法が、可撓軸３４を可撓性にさせ
るのに使用され得る。例えば、吸収性芯は、可撓軸３４
に沿って刻み目をつけられ、圧縮され、少なくされ、ま
たは排除されることができる。可撓軸３４は、長さ７．
６ｃｍであって試験機の傾斜板の下端よりも２．５４ｃ
ｍ上に維持されている可撓軸３４を使用してペンシルバ
ニア州フィラデルフィアのスウイング・アルバート・イ
ンストルーメント・カンパニー製のＰＣＡスコア曲げ試
験機でＴＡＰＰＩ標準条件下で測定して好ましくは約２
００ｇ未満、さらに好ましくは約５０ｇ未満、最も好ま
しくは約２ｇ未満の９０°での曲げ抵抗性を有するよう
な可撓性を有する。
【００２５】フラップ２４は、本質上以下なる形状も有
することができる。それは、生理用ナプキン１０の縦方
向端に沿って中心を置く必要はない。フラップの例示の
形状は、図３、図４および図５に示される。図３のフラ
ップは、中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端に沿って延出され
る。このような延出は、汚れを防止するための追加の保
護を与える。図５中の切欠き５０および５０′は、フラ
ップにしわを生じさせずに、フラップをパンティーの股
部分の端の回りに包むことを可能にさせる。
【００２６】図１および図２を参照すると、接合線２６
は、フラップ２４が中心吸収性パッド１２の縦方向端に
出会うところに形成される。フラップ２４は、中心吸収
性パッド１２と一体であるか、接合線２６において中心
吸収性パッド１２に貼着された別体の部材であるかのい
ずれかであることができる。トップシート１４およびフ
ラップトップシート２８および２８′は、材料の単一の
連続片から切断され得る。バックシート１８およびフラ
ップバックシート３２および３２′は、液体不透過性材
料の単一片から切断され得る。
【００２７】生理用ナプキンは、接合線２６および２６
′において優先的に曲がることが必須である。接合線２
６および２６′は中心吸収性パッド１２の縦方向端より
も短いので、生理用ナプキン１０は、接合線２６および
２６′において優先的に曲がる。しかしながら、接合線
２６および２６′が中心吸収性パッド１２と同一の長さ
を有するならば、接合線２６および２６′は、生理用ナ
プキン１０が接合線２６および２６′において優先的に
曲がるように可撓性にされなければならない。このこと
は、可撓軸３４を可撓性にさせるのに使用されたのと同

的用に周知の支持手段によって所定位置に保持され得る
。使用者の腰の回りに着用されたベルトが、使用され得
る。生理用ナプキンは、使用者の衣服にピンで止めるこ

うに使用者のパンティー内に置かれる。

れ、かつパンティーとして周知である種類の下着である
。それは、前方セクション４０、後方セクション４２、
および前方セクションと後方セクションとを接合する股
部分４４を具備する。股部分は、２つの側端４６および
４６′、および中心股部分４８からなる。
【００３０】本発明における生理用ナプキン１０は、剥
離ライナー２２，３８および３８′を取り外し、その後
生理用ナプキンを図７に示されるようにパンティー内に
置くことによって使用される。中心吸収性パッド１２の
中心は、パンティーの股部分４４内に置かれ、中心吸収
性パッド１２の一端は前方セクション４０に向けて延出

けて延出し、そしてバックシート１８はパンティーの内

キンの使用から得られる。フラップ２４および２４′は

の回りに包まれる。パンティー股のこのカプセル化は、
経血がパンティーの中心股部分と接触することを防止す
るのを助長する。このように、パンティーの中心股部分
は、汚さないであろう。
【００３２】２つの他の利益がある。１つは、その回り
でフラップが折られる可撓軸（例えば、フラップ２４お
よび２４′の可撓軸３４および３４′）を含むフラップ
の部分が体に対して優秀なガスケット様シールを与える
ことである。他の利益は、中心吸収性パッド、例えば中
心吸収性パッド１２が体と優秀な隣接関係に維持される
ことである。
【００３３】パンティーの股部分の端は、一般に弾性材
料を含む。パンティーが着用されるときには、股部分の
端の弾性体は、弾性体内のエネルギーおよびパンティー
のフィットのため上方向の力、即ち体に対しての力を発
生する。体とパンティーの股部分の端との間に可撓軸、
例えば可撓軸３４および３４′を置くことは、パンティ
ーの股部分の端によって発生された上方向の力を生じ、
可撓軸を含むフラップの部分を体に対してきちんと合う
ように押す。この結果、ガスケット様シールが可撓軸に
沿ってフラップと体との間に形成される。このことは、
図８に図示される。使用者上の所定位置にある図７の断
面化生理用ナプキンおよびパンティーを示す部分冠状（
ｃｏｒｏｎａｌ　）図である（冠状図は、体の長軸を通
過する前方平面である）。ガスケット様シールは、経血
が可撓軸を超えて浸透することを防止するのを助長し、
脚および隣接衣服の汚れを最小限にする。フラップを可
撓軸に沿って体に対してきちんと合うように押すことか
ら得られる別の利益は、中心吸収性パッドが体と近接さ
れ、かつ同じ形にされることである。このことも、図８
に図示される。体に対しての中心吸収性パッドの維持は
、「良好な体接触」として既知である。良好な体接触は
、経血の横方向流に対するバリヤーを与えるので、有益
である。このようなバリヤーなしでは、経血は、トップ
シートに沿って迅速に流れる傾向があり、それによって
吸収性芯によって吸収される時間を余り与えないであろ
う。 吸収されなかった経血は、生理用ナプキンを超えて流れ
、そして衣服および体の汚れを生ずる。
【００３４】固有バンチングは、使用のために生理用ナ
プキンをパンティー内に最初に置くことから生ずる生理
用ナプキンの横軸に沿ってのしわの形成である。このこ
とは、生理用ナプキンが縦軸に沿って本質上線状である
という事実、および生理用ナプキンが置かれる体の解剖
学的輪郭が本質上「ｕ」字形であるという事実による。 このように、生理用ナプキンが所定位置に置かれるや否
や、その形状はその縦軸に沿って本質上線状から「Ｕ」
字形に変化される。この形状変化は、生理用ナプキンの
横軸に沿ってしわを作り、大部分のしわは、体の最大曲
率点、即ち股領域にある。
【００３５】強制バンチングは、使用者の脚の動きによ
って生ずる横軸または縦軸のいずれかに沿っての生理用
ナプキンのしわ形成である。
【００３６】しわに沿っては体接触がほとんどないから
、経血はしわのトラフ（ｔｒｏｕｇｈ）に沿って容易に
流れるので、固有バンチングおよび強制バンチングによ
って作られる生理用ナプキン内のしわは、流れチャンネ
ルとして既知である。
【００３７】本発明における生理用ナプキンは、各フラ
ップと中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端との接合線において
優先的に曲がるという事実のため多数の利益を与える。 特に、与えられる利点は、次のことである。 （１）　　固有バンチングは、流れチャンネルを実質上
中心吸収性パッド内にだけ形成させ、フラップ内に形成
させない。 （２）　　本発明における生理用ナプキンは、流れチャ
ンネルが作られる前、かなりの強制バンチングに耐える
ことができる。 （３）　　強制バンチングが流れチャンネルを作るのに
十分な程厳しいとしても、形成されるチャンネルは、本
質上中心吸収性パッドに限定されるのであろう。 （４）　　強制バンチングは、流れチャンネルが中心吸
収性パッドおよびフラップの両方に作られる程大きいと
しても、経血は、フラップの可撓軸を超えて浸透するこ
とが防止される。
【００３８】本発明における生理用ナプキンは、各フラ
ップと中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端との接合線において
優先的に曲がるので、これらの４つの利益が得られる。 女性の股領域の解剖学的特徴は、股幅が実質上台形であ
ることであり、腟口に配置される股の中心領域は台形の
基端である。図１に示されるような本発明における生理
用ナプキンが使用状態にあるときには、股領域の解剖学
的特徴は、生理用ナプキンを各フラップと中心吸収性パ
ッドの縦方向端との接合線において優先的に曲げさせる
。この結果、生理用ナプキンは、中心吸収性パッドの各
縦方向端において腟を形成する。壁は、図８に図示され
るように、フラップと中心吸収性パッド２６，２６′と
の接合線からフラップの可撓軸３４，３４′まで延出す
る。このように、使用時に、本発明における生理用ナプ
キンは井戸状形状を有し、パンティーの股部分４６，４
６′の端の回りに包まれる可撓軸３４および３４′同士
を結んで形成される平面は、接合線２６および２６′同
士を結んで形成される平面よりも高い。
【００３９】本発明における生理用ナプキン内の固有バ
ンチングは、実質上中心吸収性パッドに限定される。本
質上何の流れチャンネルも、壁には形成されない。理論
によっては限定せずに、流れチャンネルが形成されてい
るとき、流れチャンネルを生ずるエネルギーは中心吸収
性パッドを横切って伝達され、そして流れチャンネルは
延出されると信じられる。このことは、流れチャンネル
が中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端に達するまで進行する。 各フラップと中心吸収性パッドの縦方向端との接合線は
、流れチャンネルを延出するエネルギーを解除すると信
じられるので、流れチャンネルはこれよりも遠くには延
出しない。このように、流れチャンネルは、ガスケット
様シールには達しないであろうし、それ故元のままであ
ろう。経血が離脱されるとき、ガスケット様シールは依
然としてダムを形成し、そして経血の流れを遮断するで
あろう。そして、経血は、吸収性芯によって吸収され得
る。
【００４０】強制バンチングによって生理用ナプキンに
伝達されるエネルギーは、壁を各接合線２６および２６
′の回りに回転させる傾向があるので、本発明の生理用
ナプキンは、流れチャンネルが作られる前かなりの強制
バンチングに耐えることができる。このような回転なし
では、流れチャンネルが形成されるであろう。事実、生
理用ナプキンが中心吸収性パッドの幅まで圧縮されるま
で、強制バンチングは、本発明における生理用ナプキン
においては流れチャンネルを形成しない。
【００４１】強制バンチングが流れチャンネルを作るの
に十分な程厳しいとしても、チャンネルは、実質上中心
吸収性パッドに限定されるであろう。このことは、固有
バンチングが流れチャンネルを中心吸収性パッド内にだ
け形成するのと同一の理由で真実である。それ故、ガス
ケット様シールは、元のままであり、そしてダムを形成
し、そして吸収性芯によって吸収できるまで経血の流れ
を遮断するであろう。
【００４２】強制バンチングは、流れチャンネルが中心
吸収性パッドおよびフラップの両方に形成される程大き
いとしても、経血は、フラップの可撓軸を超えて浸透す
ることが防止される。このような流れチャンネルは、ガ
スケット様シールを破壊するらしい。しかしながら、壁
自体が経血の流れに対するバリヤーを形成するであろう
ので、経血は、フラップの可撓軸を超えて浸透すること
が防止される。経血は、ガスケット様シール内の破壊個
所を浸透するためには壁を流れ上がらなければならない
であろう。このことは、使用者が直立位置にあるときに
は重力に実質上直接逆らっている。このように、壁自体
が。経血の流れを防止する。
【００４３】要するに、本発明における生理用ナプキン
は、流れチャンネルを本質上中心吸収性パッド内にだけ
形成し、このことはガスケット様シールを元のままにす
る。このように、経血は、ガスケット様シールを超えて
流れないであろう。しかしながら、強制バンチングは、
ガスケット様シールが破壊する程大きいとしても、壁は
経血の流れを防止する。
【００４４】図９および図１０は、本発明における生理
用ナプキンの別の具体例を図示する。これらの図におい
ては、図１および図２中の対応の特徴およびエレメント

１の生理用ナプキン１０との間の差に向けられる。
【００４５】図１０は、依然としてパンティーの股部分
の端の回りに容易に包まれるのに十分な程可撓性にさせ
るであろう吸収性芯のみを具備する可撓軸１３４を示す
。さらに、フラップ１２４のフラップ吸収性芯１３０は

部分の端の自然通路を変える必要なしに、フラップ１２
４をパンティーの股部分の端の回りに含ませる。このよ
うに、パンティーの股部分の端は、図１中の生理用ナプ
キン１０のような生理用ナプキンの場合に必須であるよ
うにフラップの可撓軸にフィットさせるために延伸され
る必要はない。さらに、パンティーの股部分の端の自然
通路は、生理用ナプキンが使用のために所定位置にある
ときに、最高の壁を形成させ、そして経血の流れに対す
る最大のバリヤーを与える。図１１は、使用者上の所定
位置にある図６の断面化パンティーおよび図９の断面化
生理用ナプキンを示す部分冠状図である。
【００４７】図１の生理用ナプキン１０と図９の生理用
ナプキン１１０との間の別の相違点は、後者が本質上無
数の可撓軸を包含するが、前者においては各可撓軸が独
特の（または一定の）ヒンジ手段からなることである。
【００４８】最少量のフラップ吸収性芯１３０だけ、ま
たはフラップ吸収性芯１３０が全くないことが経血によ
る汚れの防止に不利ではないことに留意することは、重
要である。このことは、壁の主機能が吸収よりもむしろ
経血収納であるという事実による。中心吸収性パッド１
２は、大部分の経血を吸収する。さらに、最少量のフラ
ップ吸収性芯は、嵩高ではなく、それ故使用者にさらに

Claims (9)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】女性の体に適合し腟排せつ物を吸収するた
    めの物品で、 （ａ）　　経血を吸収する中心吸収性部材：（前記部材
    は液体透過性／トップシート、液体不透過性バックシー
    ト、前記トップシートと前記バックシートとの間で介在
    された吸収性芯と前記バックシートの外面に固着された
    感圧接着剤を含んでなる）、 （ｂ）　　前記中心吸収性部材の夫々の縦方向端に貼着
    し、かつ横向きに外方に延出するフラップ（各フラップ
    が液体透過性フラップトップシートと液体不透過性フラ
    ップバックシートを含んでなり、かつ縦方向に伸びる可
    撓軸を含み、その軸の回りでフラップはＰＣＡ　Ｓｃｏ
    ｒｅ　Ｂｅｎｄ　Ｔｅｓｔｅｒ　によって測定される９
    ０度までの曲げ抵抗が５０ｇ未満であり、従ってフラッ
    プがその上に折り曲げ得ることができる）、 （ｃ）　　各フラップが前記中心吸収性部材と出会うと
    ころに形成される前記可撓軸より、横方向内方の間隔を
    持つ接合線、を有する生理用ナプキンを有し、かつ、女
    性の体に近接した前記中心吸収性部材を支えるための手
    段をも併有し、女性によって着用され、前記接着剤が貼
    着される股部分を有し、かつ、弾性材料を含む端縁を有
    するパンティーを有し、ナプキンが各接合線で優先的に
    曲がり、パンティーの股部分の幅が中心吸収手段の幅よ
    りも広く、女性の体が直立位置にある時に、可撓軸によ
    って規定される平面が前記接合線によって形成される平
    面よりも上方にあり、各フラップが一つの前記縦方向の
    端縁から一つの前記可撓軸へ至る壁として延出して折り
    重ねられ、パンティーの一つの前記端縁の回りにその上
    に折り重ねられたままとなり、弾性材料が身体に対し寄
    り添った可撓軸を含むフラップの部分を圧迫してフラッ
    プと身体との間の可撓軸に沿うガスケット状のシールを
    形成し、使用中もとのままである物品。
  2. 【請求項２】感圧フラップ接着剤がフラップバックシー
    トの外面に貼着され、かつパンティーの中心股領域の内
    側または外側の部分にまたは他のフラップの液体透過性
    トップシートに固着される特許請求の範囲１記載の腟排
    せつ物を吸収するための物品。
  3. 【請求項３】パンティーが７．５ｃｍの股部分を持ち、
    ナプキンの中心吸収性部材の幅が２〜７ｃｍである特許
    請求の範囲１項に記載されるナプキンである特許請求の
    範囲１または２項の腟排せつ物を吸収するための物品。
  4. 【請求項４】パンティーが７．５ｃｍの股部分を持ち、
    ナプキンの中心吸収性部材の幅が２〜５ｃｍである特許
    請求の範囲第１または第２項に記載の腟排せつ物を吸収
    するための物品。
  5. 【請求項５】中心吸収性部材の幅が２〜７ｃｍであるナ
    プキンを有する特許請求の範囲１または２記載の腟排せ
    つ物を吸収するための物品。
  6. 【請求項６】中心吸収性部材の幅が２〜５ｃｍであるナ
    プキンを有する特許請求の範囲１または２記載の腟排せ
    つ物を吸収するための物品。
  7. 【請求項７】９０°の曲げ抵抗の２５ｇ未満であるナプ
    キンを有する特許請求の範囲１または２記載の腟排せつ
    物を吸収するための物品。
  8. 【請求項８】各々のフラップが前記フラップトップシー
    トと前記フラップバックシートとに介在するフラップ吸
    収芯を有するナプキンを有する特許請求の範囲１または
    ２記載の腟排せつ物を吸収するための物品。
  9. 【請求項９】前記可撓軸の各々が独特なヒンジ手段を有
    するナプキンを有する特許請求の範囲１または２記載の
    腟排せつ物を吸収するための物品。
