Conventionally, in decorative boards made by thinly cut natural wood boards, one method to emphasize the wood texture by clarifying the conduit grooves in the board is to create a conduit groove color directly on the board surface. After applying a dark coloring agent or paint, the coloring agent or paint is rubbed into the recesses of the board, and the paint on the flat areas is removed by scraping, and then a transparent top coat is applied to the surface (commonly known as : wibbing process) is common.

The above wiping process applies a dark coloring agent or paint directly to the surface of the board, so even if the coloring agent or paint is scraped off afterwards, the surface of the board may become flat due to uneven suction or uneven thickness. It is practically impossible to completely remove the colorant or paint from the area.
The problem was that the entire surface of the board darkened or remained partially, making the surface mottled.

Therefore, in view of the above-mentioned drawbacks of the wiping process, it is an object of the present invention to provide a coloring method that makes use of the material of the board and recesses such as pipe grooves.

That is, the present invention has a conduit groove recessed part attached to a board. After applying a colored undercoat to emphasize the recessed part on the surface of the board by rubbing it into the recessed part, the surface excluding the recessed part is coated. The most distinctive feature of this painting method for board-bound decorative boards is that a white-colored intermediate coat that is lighter in color than the base coat and has concealing properties is applied, and then a transparent top coat is applied to the entire surface. , = After wiping the board surface,
The purpose is to apply a white paint with concealing properties to areas excluding recesses.

The white-based colored intermediate coating 5 having hiding properties used in this invention is a paint that uses a commonly used synthetic resin such as lacquer, aminoalkyd, or urethane as a vehicle and has a coloring agent that has hiding properties added thereto, and is usually used as an undercoat. This is adjusted by mixing the coloring agent used in the paint 4 with titanium white, but in some cases, a white intermediate paint 5 having a color completely dissimilar to the color of the undercoat 4 may be used.

The amount of titanium white added to the intermediate coat 5 is selected depending on the color and density of the undercoat 4, but is usually in the range of about 1 to 10% by weight based on the intermediate coat 5.

The reason why the color of the intermediate coating 5 is a white color that is lighter than the primer coating 4 and has a concealing performance is because it is adhered to parts other than the conduit grooves and cannot be completely removed even after the primer coating process is completed. The objective is to cover up the undercoat 4 with the intermediate coat 5 and to emphasize the dark colored conduit groove recess 2 by contrasting with the white paint on the flat part.

After drying, a transparent top coat 6 is applied to the entire surface. As the top coating 6, a commonly used synthetic resin coating for wood such as lacquer, amino alkyd, or urethane is used, but a colored transparent resin may be added by adding a coloring agent.

100 g/m 2 was applied by rubbing it into the conduit grooves of the board using a wiping machine. The surface was then dried and slightly ground with 360 grit sandpaper. Next, a urethane resin paint colored white and gray is applied to the surface using a roll coater for 50 minutes.
g/m 2 was applied. After drying, 50 g/m 2 of transparent urethane resin paint was applied and dried to complete the painting finish.

The method of painting the decorative board of this invention is as described above. First, the inside of the pipe grooves is colored with a colored undercoat, and the paint is applied to remove the paint on the flat surface. After that, the color is lighter than the undercoat and has a hiding power. Since a certain intermediate coating is applied to a flat surface, it has the following effects.

1. If the colors of the undercoat and intermediate paint are similar, the conduit grooves in the board will be emphasized, and it will be possible to provide a decorative board with an overall appearance of a harmonious wood pattern. I can do it.

2. If the colors of the base coat and intermediate coat are dissimilar, the colored base coat that adheres to areas other than the pipe grooves will be covered up by the intermediate coat, so the board surface will not darken or become uneven. , it is possible to provide a new decorative board-laminated board in which only the vessel groove portion is clearly emphasized.
