In a light-emitting display body in which a light-emitting portion is formed by selectively housing a light-emitting element in a through-hole, the inner surface of the through-hole housing a light-emitting element is formed into a light-reflecting surface that has approximately the same color as the light emitted by the light-emitting element; The gist is that the inner surface of the through hole that does not accommodate the element and the surface of the mask plate are colored in a color different from the color of light emitted by the light emitting element.

Moreover, when the light-emitting element is turned on, only the colored light of a specific wavelength emitted from the light-emitting element is reflected by the inner surface of the through-hole, which is a light-reflecting surface with almost the same color as the emitted light, and the different-colored external light of a different wavelength is absorbed. As a result, the color clarity of the light emitting portion increases, and the visibility of the display pattern further improves.

This mask plate 2 is used to improve visibility by enlarging the apparent light emitting part (light emitting dot) and preventing light from leaking to adjacent light emitting parts. Select the through holes 6′ from among the through holes 6 so as to form a display pattern of the character “I” in katakana,
An LED lamp 3 is housed inside to form a light emitting section 4. A lighting circuit is constructed by inserting the leads 9, 9 of each LED lamp 3 into the lead insertion holes 8, 8 of the display substrate 1 and soldering them to the conductive pattern 5 on the back surface of the substrate.

A light reflecting surface having substantially the same color as the emitted light from the lamp 3 is formed by applying a light reflecting paint 10 having substantially the same color as the emitted light from the lamp 3 or the like. That is, if the LED lamp 3 has a built-in light emitting diode such as GaAls or GaPZn that emits red light,
Accordingly, a resin paint containing a red coloring agent (for example, cadmium red, pigment scarlet, blueish red, etc.) is applied to make the inner surface 7' a red light reflecting surface, and the LED For example, if the lamp 3 has a built-in light emitting diode such as GaP or GaPN that emits green light,
Accordingly, a resin paint containing a green coloring agent (for example, phthalocyan green) is applied to make the inner surface 7' a green light reflecting surface.

is a paint 12 of a different color from the emission color of the LED lamp 3,
It is colored in a color different from the emitted light color by means of coating No. 13 or the like. As the paint 12 applied to the inner surface 7 of the through hole, for example, a white or silver paint is suitably used.
As the paint 12 to be applied to 1, for example, a black or gray non-reflective paint is preferably used.

The display pattern can be displayed in a desired blinking manner, such as by blinking the LED lamps 3 at the same time, but in that case, the inner surface 7' of the through hole 6' housing the LED lamps 3 will be Since the light reflecting surface has almost the same color as the emitted light color of the LED lamp 3, only the colored light of a specific wavelength emitted from the LED lamp 3 is reflected by the inner surface 7' of the through hole, and the colored light of a different wavelength is reflected. Most of the external light is absorbed. Therefore, the clarity of the color of the light emitting section 4 is significantly increased, and the visibility of the display pattern is further improved. Moreover, the inner surface 7' of the through hole 6' that accommodates the LED lamp 3 is the same as the inner surface 7' of the other through hole 6.
Since the color is different from the surface 11 of the mask plate 2,
Even if the LED lamp 3 is off, if the surroundings are bright, such as during the day, the display pattern can be sufficiently seen due to the difference in color.

This becomes even more noticeable when the light reflecting surface has substantially the same color as the light emission color of the lamp 3, so it is preferable that the exposed surface 14 of the display substrate 1 also be configured as a light reflecting surface of the same color. In addition, a translucent coating film of almost the same color as the emitted light color is provided on the surface of the LED lamp 3, and
The translucent sealing resin itself can be colored in almost the same color as the emitted light, or the translucent cap can be colored in almost the same color as the emitted light.
By covering the LED lamp 3, etc., the LED
It is also preferable to color part or all of the lamp 3 in substantially the same color as the emitted light, since the above-mentioned effects become even more remarkable. Further, it is preferable that the exposed surface (bottom surface) of the other through-hole 6 is also coated with a different paint, such as white or silver, from the through-hole 6' portion. Furthermore, if the inclination angle θ of the inner surfaces 7, 7' of the through holes 6, 6' is set to at least 120 degrees as shown in FIG. Since the area of 7' is increased and the viewing angle is increased, the above effects become even more remarkable, which is preferable.

When the display is bright, the display pattern can be visually recognized due to the difference in color, so that the display can effectively serve as a substitute for a signboard or the like.
