本発明は内燃機関用r8滑油組成物に関し、さらに詳し
くは、ジチオカルバミン酸モリブデンを水素化分解され
た製油を含む潤滑油製油に配合することにより製造され
る、優れた省燃費性能を有する内燃機関用潤滑油組成物

れる中にあって、自動車の燃費改善を図るためのrjJ
滑油の検討が進められている。潤滑油による省燃費対策
としては、m l体n滑下におけるI!i!擦損失の低
下を意図した低粘度化、および(2)混合潤滑下および
境界潤滑下における*t*損失の低下を意図した摩擦低
減剤の添加、が検討されている。特に近年の優れた省燃
費油では、*擦低減剤の添加は必須となっており、これ
までに多くの種類の化合物が開発され、成果をあげてい

発明者らもこの化合物の使用について長年に渡って検討
しており、その結果、モリブデン化合物の添加による優
れた省燃費効果を確認した。しかしながら、検討の過程
で次に述べるような問題点をも見出した。すなわち、多
くのモリブデン化合物は、劣化を受ける前の新油中では
優れた効果を発揮するが、エンジン運転中の劣化に伴っ
て、省燃費効果が徐々に失われてしまうことである。本
発明者らは、モリブデン化合物のうちジチオカルバミン
酸モリブデンが、この劣化に伴う省燃費性能の低下が起
こりにくいことを見出したが、まだ劣化に伴う省燃費性

厳しい使用条件のなかで、艮時間に亘って新油と変わら
ない省燃費性能を維持して行くことが、本当の意味での
燃費節減と考えられる。本発明者らは、ジチオカルバミ
ン酸モリブデンの持つ省燃費性能に着目し、研究を重ね
た結果、水素化分解プロセスにより製造される低芳香族
の製油とジチオカルバミン酸モリブデンとを組み合わせ
ることにより上記目的が達成できることを見出し、本発

本発明の(A)水素化分解プロセスにより製造される潤
滑油製油の製造方法は任意であり、公知の方法で製造す

を水素化分解することにより得られる。この場合の水素
化分解条件としては、通常、温度が350〜500℃、
圧力が60〜200Ng/cd.LHsVが0.1 〜

は、製油として用いたときの油膜形成が十分でなく、さ
らに蒸発損失が大きくなる。また、10cStを超える
場合には、流体潤滑条件下におけるWl擦トルクが増大
し (B)戒分の効果が発揮されず好ましくない。また
、芳香族含有恐が3重星%未満の場合には (B)ジチ
オカルバミン酸モリブデンの溶解性が十分でなく、15
重通%を超える場合には酸化安定性が十分でない。なお
、この場合の芳香族含有吊は、ASTH D2549に

リイソブチレン、α−オレフィンオリゴマー、アルキル
ベンゼン、アルキルナフタレン、ジエステル、ボリオー
ルエステル、ボリグリコール、ポリフエニルエーテル、
シリコーン油などの合成油を含んでいてもよい。水素化
分解ブロスによる基抽が製油全体の70重邑%未渦の場

剤、フェノール系、アミン系、銅系などの酸化防止剤、
ベンゾトリアゾールなどの金属不活性化剤、その他さび
止め剤、消泡剤、a!擦調整剤などが例示できる。これ

ルバミン酸モリブデン0.1〜3.0重量部を配合した
