Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は幅の広い磁気テープ上にロータリーヘ
ツドを用いて斜め方向に帯状に情報を記録する磁
気記録再生装置の磁気テープよりデーダの再生を
行う際の読取り制御方式の改善に関するものであ
る。大容量記憶装置の情報記憶方式として幅の広
い磁気テープを用い、この磁気テープ上にロータ
リーヘツドにより情報をテープの長手方向に対し
斜め帯状に記録する方式である。普通の磁気テー
プ装置ではテープ走行方向に情報が記録されてい
るが、前記方式ではテープ走行方向に対し斜め帯
状に情報が記録される。この場合情報の記録され
た帯、即ちデータストライプを認識するために、
該データストライプの一連番号を記したIDブロ
ツクがデータストライプ上に書かれている。第1
図に大容量記憶装置で使用する幅の広い磁気テー
プの情報記録状態を示す。1は磁気テープであ
る。2はデータブロツクで、3はIDブロツクで
ある。2及び3でデータストライプを構成する。
矢印aはヘツドの走行方向で、bはテープの走行
方向を示す。IDブロツクは磁気テープ製造時に
サーボライターにより記録され、以後大容量記憶
装置に於ては書き直しを行わない。しかしデータ
ブロツクは大容量記憶装置により書込み及び読出
しが行われる。従つてIDブロツクとデータブロ
ツクでは磁気テープ上に記録された条件が異なり
読取り波形の振幅は同一ではなく、IDブロツク
の読出しレベルが低い場合が多い。この関係を第
2図に示す。4はIDブロツクの読出しレベルで、
5はデータブロツクの読出しレベルである。夫々
の振幅の電圧をV1及びV2とすれば、V2V1であ
る。しかし従来の大容量記憶装置の読取り制御回
路での信号検出レベルはIDブロツク、データブ
ロツクの区別はせず、同一の検出レベルで行つて
いるためIDブロツク部に於て信号検出を誤るこ
とがある。IDブロツクで読取り誤りが発生する
と、該データストライプは使用出来なくなり磁気
テープ一巻当りの使用可能なデータストライプが
減少する欠点がある。

量記憶装置で書込まれるデータブロツクに比較し
て第2図に示す如く読出し波形の振幅が小さいの
で、振幅検出レベルが夫々最適な値をもつ振幅検
出回路で検知することによりIDブロツクとデー
タブロツクの読取り誤りを防止するものである。
第3図は本発明の一実施例を示す回路のブロツク
図である。信号読取り波形はCラインを通つて増
幅器6に入り増幅された後振幅検出回路7及び8
に入る。振幅検出回路7及び8は夫々振幅検出レ
ベルに差があり、振幅検出回路7は高レベルで、
従つてデータブロツクの信号検出用であり、振幅
検出回路8は低レベルで、従つてIDブロツクの
信号検出用である。ID認識信号はdラインを通
つて選択回路9に入るので選択回路9はIDブロ
ツク信号検出時は振幅検出回路8の出力を、デー
タブロツク信号検出時は振幅検出回路7の出力を
夫々選別してeラインへ送出する。大容量記憶装
置はIDブロツクとデータブロツクを区別して読
出す必要があるためID認識信号を得ることは可
能である。
