Description
図1及び図2に示すように、本実施形態の液晶装置100は、対向配置された素子基板10及び対向基板20と、これら一対の基板によって挟持された電気光学層としての液晶層15とを有する。素子基板10を構成する基板としての第1基材10a、及び対向基板20を構成する第2基材20aは、例えば、ガラス又は石英などである。
第2実施形態の液晶装置200は、図9に示すように、液晶分子LCの配向方向が、第1実施形態の液晶装置100と異なっている。その他の構成については概ね同様である。このため第2実施形態では、第1実施形態と異なる部分について詳細に説明し、その他の重複する部分については適宜説明を省略する。
第3実施形態の液晶装置300は、図11に示すように、液晶分子LCの配向方向が、第1実施形態の液晶装置100、及び第2実施形態の液晶装置200と異なっている。その他の構成については概ね同様である。このため第3実施形態では、第1実施形態と異なる部分について詳細に説明し、その他の重複する部分については適宜説明を省略する。
Claims (3)
- 液晶分子が第1方向に沿って配向する複数の画素を含む第1配向領域と、
液晶分子が前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って配向する複数の画素を含み、前記
第1配向領域と接する第2配向領域と、
液晶分子が前記第2方向と交差し前記第1方向とは反対の第3方向に沿って配向する複
数の画素を含み、前記第2配向領域と接する第3配向領域と、
液晶分子が前記第3方向と交差し前記第2方向とは反対の第4方向に沿って配向する複
数の画素を含み、前記第1配向領域及び前記第3配向領域と接する第4配向領域と、を有
し、
前記第1配向領域、前記第2配向領域、前記第3配向領域及び前記第4配向領域は、そ
れぞれ表示領域の内側から外側に向かって連続的に広がるように設けられており、液晶分
子を前記第1配向領域、前記第2配向領域、前記第3配向領域及び前記第4配向領域の順
番に循環させるように設けられていることを特徴とする液晶装置。 - 画素領域の外側に、液晶分子が第1方向に沿って配向する第1配向領域と、液晶分子が
前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って配向する第2配向領域と、
前記画素領域に、液晶分子が前記第2配向領域から前記第1配向領域へ移動するように
、液晶分子が前記第1方向及び前記第2方向と交差する第3方向に沿って配向する第3配
向領域と、
前記画素領域の外側に、前記第1配向領域と前記第3配向領域を挟んで対向し液晶分子
が前記第1方向に沿って配向する第4配向領域と、前記第2配向領域と前記第3配向領域
を挟んで対向し液晶分子が前記第2方向に沿って配向する第5配向領域と、を有すること
を特徴とする液晶装置。 - 請求項1または2に記載の液晶装置を備えることを特徴とする電子機器。
