この構成によれば、フランジ壁凹部32aが四つのフランジ壁角部32bにのみ設けられているため、容器本体20が蓋体Mで密閉された状態で、物流時等に不意に加わる外力に対して蓋体が外れにくいばかりでなく、開封時に故意に加える外力に対して蓋体が外れやすくなる。また、四つのフランジ壁凹部32aのみフランジ壁部32に対して凹んでいる分、成型時の金型から成型後の容器本体20が離れやすい。換言すれば、フランジ壁凹部32aがフランジ壁部32の全周に設けられている場合と比較して、密閉性・易開封性・金型離形性に優れている。
フランジ壁凹部32aは、フランジ壁角部32bの頂点に位置して所定の幅を有するフランジ壁角頂点部の両脇からフランジ壁角部32bに沿って帯状に形成されている。なお、フランジ壁凹部32aの端面形状やフランジ壁部32に対する奥行きは、いずれでもよい。

なお、曲率半径R1,R2,R3の寸法や比率に限定はない。

この構成によれば、物流時の梱包等で横方向からフランジ辺部3bの中央部分を押しつぶす外力が加わっても、上記外力を加える対象物にフランジ延出部33の外端縁の中央部分及びフランジ先端部34の下端縁の中央部分が線接触するばかりでなく、フランジ先端部34の中央部分が面接触するため、フランジ辺部3bの中央部分が変形しにくくかつ変形しても目立ちにくく、フランジ部3の破損を回避することができる。さらに、フランジ延出部33とフランジ先端部34との境界部分がアーチ状に形成されるため、フランジ延出部33の剛性及び強度を高めることができる。
フランジ延出部33の外端縁の中央部分とフランジ先端部34の下端縁の中央部分とは、同等の長さかつフランジ辺部3bに対して3分の1程度の割合を占めている。フランジ先端部34の中央部分は、略垂直である。
