Description
上記断熱部材が筒部に固定されていると、当該断熱部材を交換する際には、インシュレータを外した後に断熱部材を筒部から取り除く作業や、断熱部材を筒部に取り付けてからインシュレータを組み付ける作業が必要になる。この点、同構成によれば、上記断熱部材がインシュレータに固定されているため、インシュレータを交換するだけで断熱部材を交換することが可能になり、筒部から断熱部材を除去する作業や、筒部に断熱部材を組み付ける作業を省略することができる。従って、断熱部材の交換作業を簡素化することができる。
図1に示すように、車両100の前部には内燃機関10が搭載されている。内燃機関10には、排気の流れ方向においてその上流側から順に、排気マニホールド12、本実施形態の触媒装置200、排気管14が接続されている。なお、触媒装置200は、車両上方から下方に向かって排気が流れるように、鉛直方向に対してやや傾いた縦向きの姿勢で組み付けられている。
ここで、筒部20の外周面であって当該筒部20の排気上流端30Aと排気下流端30Bとの間の領域を同筒部20の軸線L方向に並ぶ2つの領域に分割する。そして、その2つの領域のうちの排気上流側の領域を上流側部位Puとし、排気下流側の領域を下流側部位Pdとしたときに、断熱部材70は、上流側部位Puに配置される第1断熱部71と、下流側部位Pdに配置される第2断熱部72とを有している。
(1)断熱部材70は、筒部20の外周面の上流側部位Puに配置される第1断熱部71と、筒部20の外周面の下流側部位Pdに配置される第2断熱部72とを有している。そして、先の図3や図4に示したように、第1断熱部71は、インシュレータ60に対向する筒部20の外周面全体を覆うように配置されており、第2断熱部72は、インシュレータ60に対向する筒部20の外周面の一部のみを覆うように配置されている。
・インシュレータ60は、筒部20及び上流側テーパ部22及び下流側テーパ部24の外周面全体を覆うように配置されていたが、少なくとも筒部20の外周面を覆うようにインシュレータ60を配置してもよい。
Claims (3)
- 内燃機関の排気を浄化する触媒が担持された触媒担体と、前記触媒担体を収納する筒部と、前記触媒担体と前記筒部との間に配置されて前記触媒担体の外周面を包んだ状態で前記触媒担体を前記筒部内に保持する保持マットと、を備える触媒装置であって、
前記筒部の外周面側に設けられたインシュレータと、
前記インシュレータと前記筒部との間に配置された断熱部材と、を備えており、
前記筒部の外周面であって当該筒部の排気上流端と排気下流端との間の領域を同筒部の軸線方向に並ぶ2つの領域に分割し、その2つの領域のうちの排気上流側の領域を上流側部位とし、排気下流側の領域を下流側部位としたときに、
前記下流側部位において前記断熱部材に覆われる面積は、前記上流側部位において前記断熱部材に覆われる面積よりも少なくされている

前記第1断熱部は、前記インシュレータに対向する前記筒部の外周面全体を覆うように配置されており、

請求項1に記載の触媒装置。 - 前記断熱部材は、前記筒部の外周面に対向する前記インシュレータの内周面に固定されている
