Description
図2に示すように、繊維強化複合材Mは、強化基材を構成する繊維構造体Wにマトリックス樹脂Maを含浸させて形成されたものである。
図2に示すように、経糸12及び緯糸22は、強化繊維製の芯糸13と、芯糸13を被覆した強化繊維製の複数のカバーリング糸14とを含む。芯糸13及びカバーリング糸14は、複数の強化繊維を束ねて構成されている。芯糸13を構成する強化繊維は、例えば炭素繊維、アラミド繊維やガラス繊維である。また、芯糸13は断面扁平状であり、芯糸13の長手方向に延びる一対の幅広面13a,13bを有し、一方の幅広面13aを第1の幅広面13aとし、他方の幅広面13bを第2の幅広面13bとする。芯糸13は、幅広面13a,13bの長縁部同士を繋ぐ円弧面13cを備える。経糸12において、芯糸13の糸主軸方向(糸主軸Y)は経糸12の経糸主軸方向(経糸主軸X1)と一致し、緯糸22において、芯糸13の糸主軸方向(糸主軸Y)は緯糸22の緯糸主軸方向(緯糸主軸X2)と一致している。
例えば、図4に示すように、カバーリング糸14の第1カバー糸主軸Yaの延びる第1カバー方向へ繊維構造体Wが引っ張られて賦形した場合、経糸12及び緯糸22は、引っ張りに追従して変形する。その一方で、カバーリング糸14は、引っ張られた第1カバー方向への伸びが発生せず、引っ張られた方向に直交した第2カバー方向について蛇行や巻き付けの緩みが発生しない。
(1)経糸12及び緯糸22を、芯糸13にカバーリング糸14を螺旋状に巻き付けて構成し、カバーリング糸14のカバーリング角度は、芯糸13の配向方向(経糸主軸方向である0度及び緯糸主軸方向である90度)とは異なる方向(第1カバー方向である+45度及び第2カバー方向である−45度)に対応している。このため、バイアス方向糸を用いずに、繊維強化複合材Mにおいて経糸12の経糸主軸方向及び緯糸22の緯糸主軸方向以外の方向への力学的特性を持たせることができる。そして、カバーリング糸14は、芯糸13に巻き付けられているため、繊維構造体Wが賦形されてもカバーリング糸14が伸びたり、蛇行したりせず、皺が発生しにくい。よって、繊維構造体Wを用いた繊維強化複合材Mについて、カバーリング糸14によって力学的特性を持たせた方向について、その力学的特性の低下を抑制することができる。また、幅広面13a,13bに巻き付けられた部分のカバーリング糸14の糸主軸方向が繊維強化複合材Mにおいて力学的特性を向上させる方向に一致するので、カバーリング糸14の直進性が高く、その糸主軸方向への力学的特性向上効果が高まる。
○ 実施形態では、芯糸13を覆うカバーリング層15が1層となるようにカバーリング糸14を巻き付けたが、これに限らない。芯糸13を覆うカバーリング層が2層となるようにカバーリング糸14を巻き付けてもよい。
この場合、経糸12の芯糸13と、緯糸42との体積比は1:1とし、同じ太さとする。また、経糸12の芯糸13と、第1カバー部15aと、第2カバー部15bとの体積比(厚み比)を、芯糸13:第1カバー部15a:第2カバー部15bを1:1:1とする。その結果として、第1カバー部15a及び第2カバー部15bと、それ以外の部位(経糸12の芯糸13と緯糸42)の体積比が1:1となる。
○ 経糸12及び緯糸22におけるカバーリング角度は±45度で以外の角度であってもよく、例えば60度でもよい。
(イ)前記第1の強化繊維束及び前記第2の強化繊維束が、前記芯糸と前記カバーリング糸を有する繊維構造体。
Claims (1)
- 繊維構造体にマトリックス樹脂を含浸させた繊維強化複合材であって、
前記繊維構造体は、
複数本の第1の強化繊維束が配列された第1の繊維層と、
複数本の第2の強化繊維束が配列され、該第2の強化繊維束の糸主軸方向が前記第1の強化繊維束の糸主軸方向に直交する第2の繊維層と、
前記第1の強化繊維束と前記第2の強化繊維束と交錯して、前記第1の繊維層と前記第2の繊維層を積層方向に結合した補助糸と、を含み、
前記第1の強化繊維束及び第2の強化繊維束の少なくとも一方が、
強化繊維製の芯糸と、
前記芯糸に対し螺旋状に巻き付けられた強化繊維製のカバーリング糸と、を含み、
前記カバーリング糸の糸主軸方向が、前記第1の強化繊維束の糸主軸方向及び前記第2の強化繊維束の糸主軸方向とは異なる方向であって前記繊維強化複合材に力学的特性を持たせるための方向であることを特徴とする繊維強化複合材。
