同一列内に隣接して並ぶ配光中心から遠い第1複合制御ユニットおよび配光中心に近い第2複合制御ユニットにおいて、前記第1複合制御ユニットの前記第2複合制御ユニットに隣接して配置される発光ダイオードは、前記第2複合制御ユニットの前記第1複合制御ユニットに隣接して配置される発光ダイオードよりも発光面積の小さい、

Claims (8)
- 支持基板と、
前記支持基板上に、水平方向の行、鉛直方向の列を有する2次元マトリクス状に配置された多数の発光ダイオードからなる発光ダイオードアレイと、
を含み、
前記多数の発光ダイオードは、独立に点灯/消灯を制御できる、複数の制御ユニットに分割され、
前記複数の制御ユニットは、同一列内に隣接して並ぶ複数の発光ダイオードが直列接続された、2以上の、複合制御ユニットを含み、
前記複合制御ユニット各々における複数の発光ダイオードは、前記発光ダイオードアレイで最も輝度が高い配光中心から遠い方の発光ダイオードが配光中心側の発光ダイオードよりも発光面積が広く、
同一列内に隣接して並ぶ配光中心から遠い第1複合制御ユニットおよび配光中心に近い第2複合制御ユニットにおいて、前記第1複合制御ユニットの前記第2複合制御ユニットに隣接して配置される発光ダイオードは、前記第2複合制御ユニットの前記第1複合制御ユニットに隣接して配置される発光ダイオードよりも発光面積の小さい、
前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。 - 前記多数の発光ダイオードは、前記列の水平方向の幅が等しい、請求項1に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
- 前記配光中心を含む行を構成する制御ユニットは、1個の発光ダイオードのみで構成されている、請求項1または2に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
- 前記多数の発光ダイオードの各々が蛍光体膜を有して、白色光を発光し、前記発光ダイオード装置が車両用の前照灯を構成する請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
- 前記複数の制御ユニットの各々に、制御された駆動電流を供給する複数の駆動電源をさらに含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
- 前記駆動電源が、複数の制御ユニットに対してスタティック駆動を行う請求項5に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
- 前記駆動電源が視野内の鉛直方向に沿って時分割駆動を行う請求項5に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
- 前記駆動電源が、パルス幅変調又は周波数変調を行う請求項5に記載の前照灯用発光ダイオード装置。
