Description
すなわち、本発明に係るオイルシールは、
軸と軸孔との間を封止して、大気側とオイル側とを隔てるオイルシールであって、
前記軸孔の内周面に対して固定される固定部と、
前記固定部から軸方向かつ径方向内側に延びるベローズ部と、
前記ベローズ部の径方向内側の端から前記大気側に向かって軸方向に延びる円筒部と、
前記円筒部の前記大気側の端から、径方向内側に、かつ、前記オイル側に向かって軸方向に延びる、前記軸の外周面に摺動自在に密着する寝かせられたシールリップと、
前記円筒部の前記大気側の端から、前記大気側に向かって軸方向に延びるダストリップと、
を備える。
前記オイル側に負圧が生じて前記シールリップを前記軸の外周面から持ち上げる力が作用した場合は、前記円筒部の前記大気側の端が、前記ダストリップを前記軸の外周面に密着させるように撓むように構成される。
図1を参照して、本発明の実施例に係る、省エネ型のオイルシール10について説明する。オイルシール10は、軸16と、ハウジング14の軸孔12との間を封止して、大気側Aとオイル側Oを隔てるように設計されている。オイルシール10は、軸孔12の内周面に対して固定される固定部20を備えている。本実施例においては、固定部20は、軸孔12の内周面に固定された、金属からなる環状部材22に対して取り付けられている。なお、固定部20と環状部材22の形状は、図示された形状以外の形状であってもよい。また、環状部材22を設けずに、固定部20が軸孔12の内周面に対して直接的に密着するように構成してもよい。
備えている。ベローズ部24は、軸方向と径方向の双方に延びているため、径方向内側に向かって撓むことが可能になる。また、オイルシール10は、ベローズ部24の径方向内側の端25から大気側Aに向かって軸方向に延びる円筒部26を備えている。円筒部26の大気側の端にはピボット部28が形成されている。そして、オイルシール10は、ピボット部28から、径方向内側に、かつ、オイル側Oに向かって軸方向に延びる、軸16の外周面に摺動自在に密着する寝かせられたシールリップ30を備えている。更に、オイルシール10は、円筒部26のピボット部28から、径方向内側に、かつ、大気側Aに向かって軸方向に延びるダストリップ32を備えている。ピボット部28は、円筒部26、シールリップ30、ダストリップ32の何れよりも肉厚に構成されている。これにより、ピボット部28を、容易に変形する形状ではなく、円筒部26に対して旋回する(曲がる)ように構成することができる。

Claims (2)
- 軸と軸孔との間を封止して、大気側とオイル側とを隔てるオイルシールであって、
前記軸孔の内周面に対して固定される固定部と、
前記固定部から軸方向かつ径方向内側に延びるベローズ部と、
前記ベローズ部の径方向内側の端から前記大気側に向かって軸方向に延びる円筒部と、
前記円筒部の前記大気側の端から、径方向内側に、かつ、前記オイル側に向かって軸方向に延びる、前記軸の外周面に摺動自在に密着する寝かせられたシールリップと、
前記円筒部の前記大気側の端から、前記大気側に向かって軸方向に延びるダストリップと、
を備えると共に、
前記オイル側に負圧が生じていない場合は、前記シールリップが前記軸の外周面に密着すると共に、前記ダストリップが前記軸の外周面から径方向に離間しており、
前記オイル側に負圧が生じて前記シールリップを前記軸の外周面から持ち上げる力が作用した場合は、前記円筒部の前記大気側の端が、前記ダストリップを前記軸の外周面に密着させるように撓むことを特徴とするオイルシール。 - 前記シールリップが、内周側にポンプ溝を備える、請求項1に記載のオイルシール。
