Claims (33)
- 繊維強化コンポジットにおいて用いられる継ぎ目のない軸対称プリフォームであって、
中心軸を有する継ぎ目のない管状織り構造を無端管状織りにより形成するために、一以上の横編み糸と織り交ぜられる縦編み糸二以上の層を備え、
前記プリフォームは、その長さに沿って二以上の直径を有するように長さの異なる横編み糸を備え、当該プリフォームの縦編み糸の数が、実質的に一定の糸間隔で、前記横編み糸の長さに対応して増減するように当該プリフォームに沿って変動するプリフォーム。 - 前記縦編み糸の二以上の層は、輪方向に無端又は管状に織られた一以上の横編み糸と織り交ぜられている請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- より大きな直径を有するプリフォームの第1部分は、中心軸に沿って、より小さな直径を有するプリフォームの第2部分の上に折り畳まれる請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 最も小さな直径を有するプリフォームの第3の部分が、プリフォームの第2部分の中に折り畳まれる請求項3に記載のプリフォーム。
- プリフォームが所定形状を有するマンドレルに適合する請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記縦編み糸が、プリフォームの中心軸に沿っている請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記横編み糸が、プリフォームの輪方向に平行である請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記縦編み糸及び/又は横編み糸が、ガラス、カーボン、セラミック、アラミド、ポリエチレン、及びそれらの派生物からなる群から選択される材料で作られている請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記複数の縦編み糸及び/又は一つの横編み糸が、単繊維、多繊維、ねじれ多繊維、プライド(plied)多繊維、非ねじれトー(tows)、縄編みにされた(cabled)又は拠り合わされた(braided)構造である請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記プリフォームが多層構造である請求項1に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記多層構造が、管状織り構造の一方又は両方の表面上に形成され、又はそこに取り付けられるファブリックの一以上の層を備える請求項10に記載のプリフォーム。
- 前記ファブリックが、レイアップ、平織り、無端織り、不織、拠り合わされた(braided)又は編まれた(knitted)構造である請求項11に記載のプリフォーム。
- 請求項1に記載のプリフォームを備える繊維強化コンポジット。
- マトリックス材を更に備える請求項13に記載の繊維強化コンポジット。
- 前記マトリックス材が、エポキシ、ポリエステル、ビニルエステル、セラミック、カーボン、及びそれらの派生物からなるグループから選択される樹脂である請求項14に記載の繊維強化コンポジット。
- 前記コンポジットが窓枠、車輪リム、又はジェットエンジンの燃焼器の一部である請求項13に記載の繊維強化コンポジット。
- 繊維強化コンポジットにおいて用いるための継ぎ目のない軸対称プリフォームを形成するための方法であって、
縦編み糸の二以上の層と一以上の横編み糸とを織り交ぜることにより、継ぎ目のない中心軸を有する管状織り構造を無端管状織りにより形成するステップを備え、
前記プリフォームが、その長さに沿って二以上の直径を有するように長さの異なる横編み糸を備え、当該プリフォームの縦編み糸の数が、実質的に一定の糸間隔で、前記横編み糸の長さに対応して増減するように当該プリフォームに沿って変動する方法。 - 前記縦編み糸の二以上の層は、輪方向に無端又は管状に織られた一以上の横編み糸と織り交ぜられる請求項17に記載の方法。
- より大きな直径を有するプリフォームの第1部分を、中心軸に沿って、より小さな直径を有するプリフォームの第2部分の上に折り畳むステップを更に備える請求項17に記載の方法。
- 最も小さな直径を有するプリフォームの第3の部分を、プリフォームの第2部分の上に折り畳むステップを更に備える請求項19に記載の方法。
- プリフォームが所定形状を有するマンドレルに適合する請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記縦編み糸が、プリフォームの中心軸に平行である請求項17に記載の方法。

- 前記管状織り構造の一方又は両方の表面上にファブリックの一以上の層を形成する又は取り付けることにより多層構造を形成する請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記ファブリックが、レイアップ、織られた、無端織り、不織、拠り合わされた(braided)又は編まれた(knitted)構造である請求項26に記載の方法。
- 繊維強化コンポジットを形成するための方法であって、請求項17のステップを含む方法。
- 少なくとも部分的にマトリックス材をプリフォームに含浸させるステップを更に備える請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記マトリックス材は、エポキシ、ポリエステル、ビニルエステル、セラミック、カーボン及びその派生物からなる群から選択される樹脂である請求項29に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも部分的にマトリックス材を硬化させるステップを更に備える請求項29に記載の方法。
