Claims (14)
- 発光素子と、
駆動トランジスタ、前記駆動トランジスタのゲートとドレインの間に設けられた第1のスイッチ、前記駆動トランジスタのドレインと前記発光素子の一端の間に設けられた第2のスイッチ、ならびに前記駆動トランジスタのゲートに一端が接続された容量、を含む駆動回路と、
前記駆動回路に電源電圧を供給する電源線と、
前記駆動回路に第1電圧および第2電圧をそれぞれ供給する第1電圧線および第2電圧線と、を有する発光装置であって、
前記駆動回路は、前記駆動トランジスタのソースを前記電源線と前記第1電圧線のいずれか一方に切り替え可能に接続する第3のスイッチと、前記容量の他端を前記駆動トランジスタのソースと前記第2電圧線のいずれか一方に切り替え可能に接続する第4のスイッチとを備え、
前記第1ないし第4のスイッチは、
前記第1のスイッチがオン、かつ前記第2のスイッチがオフの第1期間に、前記第3のスイッチが前記駆動トランジスタのソースを前記第1電圧線に接続し、前記第4のスイッチが前記容量の他端を前記第2電圧線に接続し、
前記第1のスイッチがオフ、かつ前記第2のスイッチがオンの第2期間に、前記第3のスイッチが前記駆動トランジスタのソースを前記電源線に接続し、前記第4のスイッチが前記容量の他端を前記駆動トランジスタのソースに接続するように、制御されることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 前記電源線に沿って1列に配置され、前記電源線を共有し、かつ前記第1ないし第4のスイッチを個別に制御可能な複数の前記駆動回路を有し、前記駆動回路の1つが前記第1期間にあるとき、残る前記駆動回路が前記第2期間にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記電源線に沿って1列に配置され、前記電源線を共有し、かつ前記第1ないし第4のスイッチをブロックごとに個別に制御可能なM×N(M、Nは2以上の整数)個の前記駆動回路を有し、1つのブロックを構成するM個の前記駆動回路が前記第1期間にあるとき、残るブロックのM×(N−1)個の前記駆動回路が前記第2期間にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1電圧線が一定電圧を前記駆動回路に供給し、前記第2電圧線が前記発光素子の輝度を決定する電圧を前記駆動回路に供給することを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第2電圧線が一定電圧を前記駆動回路に供給し、前記第1電圧線が前記発光素子の輝度を決定する電圧を前記駆動回路に供給することを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第3のスイッチと前記第4のスイッチが同一の制御信号で制御されることを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第2のスイッチと前記第3のスイッチと前記第4のスイッチが同一の制御信号で制御されることを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第3のスイッチが、互いのゲートが接続されたP−MOSトランジスタとN−MOSトランジスタとで構成されている請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第4のスイッチが、互いのゲートが接続されたP−MOSトランジスタとN−MOSトランジスタとで構成されている請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 前記駆動回路が、前記駆動トランジスタのゲートと第3電圧線の間に設けられた第5のスイッチを備え、前記第1のスイッチと前記第2のスイッチがともにオフ、かつ前記第4のスイッチが前記容量の他端を前記第2電圧線に接続している第3期間に、前記第5のスイッチがオンになるように制御されることを特徴とする請求項1ないし9のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置。
- 電源線と第1電圧線と第2電圧線に接続された駆動回路を用いて発光素子を駆動する発光素子の駆動方法であって、
前記駆動回路は、駆動トランジスタと、前記駆動トランジスタのゲートに一端が接続された容量と、前記駆動トランジスタのゲートを前記駆動トランジスタのドレインに接続する第1のスイッチと、前記駆動トランジスタのドレインを前記発光素子に接続する第2のスイッチと、前記駆動トランジスタのソースを前記電源線と前記第1電圧線のいずれか一方に接続する第3のスイッチと、前記容量の他端を前記駆動トランジスタのソースと前記第2電圧線のいずれか一方に接続する第4のスイッチと、を備えており、
前記第1のスイッチをオンさせ、かつ前記第2のスイッチをオフさせて、前記第3のスイッチによって前記駆動トランジスタのソースを前記第1電圧線に接続し、前記第4のスイッチによって前記容量の他端を前記第2電圧線に接続する第1の工程と、
前記第1のスイッチをオフさせ、かつ前記第2のスイッチをオンさせて、前記第3のスイッチによって前記駆動トランジスタのソースを前記電源線に接続し、前記第4のスイッチによって前記容量の他端を前記駆動トランジスタのソースに接続する第2の工程と、を有することを特徴とする発光素子の駆動方法。 - 前記駆動回路が、前記駆動トランジスタのゲートと第3電圧線の間に設けられた第5のスイッチを備え、前記第1のスイッチと前記第2のスイッチをともにオフさせ、かつ前記第4のスイッチによって前記容量の他端を前記第2電圧線に接続し、前記第5のスイッチをオンさせる第3の工程を有することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の発光素子の駆動方法。
- 請求項1ないし10のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置を含む表示装置。
- 請求項1ないし10のいずれか1項に記載の発光装置を含む露光装置と感光体とを有する画像形成装置。
