前記TFT基板と前記対向基板との間に封入された液晶と、を有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記対向基板の、前記TFT基板とは反対側の表面に形成された透明電極と、
前記TFT基板の端子部に形成された、接地電極と、検査パッドと、前記検査パッドと前記信号線または前記走査線との間のスイッチ素子と、
前記対向基板の前記透明電極と、前記TFT基板の前記接地電極および前記検査パッドとを電気的に接続する導電性テープと、
を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記スイッチ素子を開状態または閉状態とする電位を供給する端子を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記スイッチ素子を、検査時に閉状態とする電位を供給する端子、および製品時に開状態とする電位を供給する端子を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記スイッチ素子を開状態とする電位を供給する端子には、ドライバIC搭載時に、ドライバICから前記スイッチ素子を開状態とする電位を供給することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1〜4の何れか1つに記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記検査パッドを接地電極として利用したことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置において、
独立した接地電極は設けないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、更に、
導電性テープの貼り位置目印を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記信号線または走査線の一部には、スイッチ素子を介することなく、FPC端子から直接結線されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、
複数の検査パッドの一部は前記導電性テープで覆われるとともに、他の一部は露出していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、
ドライバ搭載時に、ドライバの下にある前記検査パッドには、前記スイッチ素子を設けないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1〜10の何れか1つに記載の液晶表示装置において、
横電界方式の液晶表示装置であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - マトリクス状に配置した画素電極、それぞれの画素電極に接続された薄膜トランジスタ、複数の走査線および信号線を備えるとともに、端子部に接地電極と、検査パッドと、前記検査パッドと前記信号線または走査線との間のスイッチ素子とを形成したTFT基板と、該TFT基板と対向して配置され、前記TFT基板と反対側の面に透明電極を備える対向基板とからなる液晶表示パネルを用いる液晶表示装置の製造方法であって、
検査時に、前記スイッチ素子を閉状態として前記検査パッドを用いて液晶表示パネルを検査するステップと、
前記対向基板の前記透明電極と、前記TFT基板の前記接地電極および前記検査パッドとを電気的に接続する導電性テープを貼り付けるステップと、を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 請求項12に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法において、
更に、前記スイッチ素子を開状態として、液晶表示パネルを駆動するステップを備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法。
