Description
(式(1)中のmは整数である)
本発明の表面物性改良剤組成物は、ポリオレフィン樹脂からなる成形体(以下、単にポリオレフィン樹脂成形体と称す)の表面物性を改良するためのものであって、無極性ワックス(A)とビニル共重合体(B)とを含有する。
無極性ワックスは低摩擦性などの性質を発現できる化合物であり、主としてポリオレフィン樹脂成形体の耐擦傷性を向上させる機能を有する。当該無極性ワックスとしては、融点が50〜100℃、好ましくは60〜100℃の範囲にあるものであれば、公知のワックスが全て含まれる。融点が50℃よりも低い場合、常温でタッキ性(粘着性)を持つため作業性が悪く、ポリオレフィン樹脂成形体表面へのブリードも多くなる。一方、融点が100℃よりも高い場合はポリオレフィン樹脂成形体の表面への配向性が悪くなり、耐擦傷性が低下する。このような無極性ワックスとしては、パラフィンワックス、マイクロクリスタリンワックス等の石油由来の天然ワックス、フィッシャートロプシュワックス、ポリエチレンワックス等の合成ワックス等が挙げられるが、中でもマイクロクリスタリンワックスが好ましい。
ビニル共重合体は、二種類の単量体(b1)・(b2)をラジカル重合開始剤を使用して共重合した共重合体である。
単量体(b1)としては、その重合体がポリオレフィン樹脂よりも硬質であり、且つポリオレフィン樹脂との極性の相違による排斥(排除)効果によってポリオレフィン樹脂成形体の表面に配向されることにより、耐擦傷性の向上効果が大きくなるような単量体が好適に用いられる。具体的には、アクリロニトリルとスチレンの一方又は双方を使用できる。アクリロニトリル及び/又はスチレンであれば、後述の単量体(b2)との共重合性が良好なため、その他の単量体を使用した場合よりも耐擦傷性の向上効果がより大きくなる。
ラジカル重合開始剤は単量体(b1)・(b2)のラジカル重合を開始させる化合物であり、一般的に知られているアゾ系重合開始剤、有機過酸化物、過硫酸塩、過酸化水素水、レドックス重合開始剤(酸化剤及び還元剤を組合せた重合開始剤)等を使用できる。
ビニル系共重合体は、ラジカル重合開始剤を使用した公知の懸濁重合法または乳化重合法によって合成することができる。このとき、単量体(b1)・(b2)は、(b1)+(b2)=10〜50質量部となる範囲で、単量体(b1)を0.1〜49.9質量部、単量体(b2)を0.1〜9.9質量部の範囲で配合する。単量体(b1)・(b2)の配合割合(含有量)がこの範囲から外れると、結果としてポリオレフィン樹脂成形体の表面物性が低下する。
本発明の表面物性改良剤組成物は、無極性ワックス(A)の融点以上の温度で無極性ワックス(A)とビニル系共重合体(B)と混合することで得ることができる。このとき、ビニル系共重合体(B)を製造してから無極性ワックス(A)と混合してもよいし、同一容器内に無極性ワックス(A)と、単量体(b1)と、単量体(b2)とを投入して、無極性ワックス(A)の存在下でビニル系共重合体(B)を製造してもよい。無極性ワックス(A)の存在下でビニル系共重合体(B)を製造した場合は、無極性ワックス(A)とビニル共重合体(B)とがグラフト構造を形成する点で好ましい。
本発明の樹脂組成物は、ポリオレフィン樹脂を主成分として、上記表面物性改良剤組成物を含有する。
樹脂組成物は、表面物性改良剤組成物とポリオレフィン樹脂とを混合加熱して溶融、混合することにより調製される。その際の加熱温度は、70〜300℃程度が好ましい。加熱温度が70℃未満の場合、ポリオレフィン樹脂と表面物性改良剤組成物との混練が不完全になったり、溶融粘度が高いため混合が不十分になり、相分離や層状剥離が現れる傾向にある。一方、300℃を超える場合、ポリオレフィン樹脂と表面物性改良剤組成物の分解が激しくなる傾向にある。溶融、混合方法としては、一軸押出機、二軸押出機、バンバリーミキサー、ニーダー、ロールによる混練法等公知の方法が採用される。
樹脂成形体は、上記の樹脂組成物を所定形状に成形することにより得られ、樹脂組成物に含まれる表面物性改良剤組成物の効果が発現される。樹脂成形体の形態としては、シート、フィルム、中空体、ブロック体、板状体、筒体、複雑形状体など、特に限定されない。成形方法としては、熱可塑性樹脂の一般的な成形方法であれば特に限定されず、カレンダー成形法、圧空成形法、加熱成形法、ブロー成形法、発泡成形法、押出成形法、射出成形法、真空成形法、粉末スラッシュ成形法等が挙げられる。樹脂成形体は、優れた表面物性改質効果とその熱安定性により、自動車部品、家電部品、雑貨等の幅広い分野における多種の製品、半製品に利用することができる。
容量0.5Lの反応槽に、無極性ワックス(A)として50gのマイクロクリスタリンワックス(融点69.7℃)と、単量体(b1)として18gのスチレン及び27gのアクリロニトリルと、単量体(b2)として1gのメタクリロキシポリジメチルシロキサン(数平均分子量Mn=5,000)とを投入し、そこに280gの水と、分散剤として1.6gの第三リン酸カルシウム及び0.4gのヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースと、分子量調整剤として0.02gのα−メチルスチレンダイマーとを投入し、70℃に加温して30分攪拌する。
無極性ワックス(A)、単量体(b1)、単量体(b2)を、それぞれ表1〜4に示す配合量に変更した以外は、実施例1−1−1−1と同様の操作を行って実施例1−1−1−2〜実施例1−1−4−7および比較例1−1−1−1〜比較例1−1−1−4の表面物性改良剤組成物を得た。

また、表1,3において単量体(b2)を示すPDMSの数平均分子量(Mn)は全て5,000である。一方、表2,4において単量体(b2)を示すPDMS1の数平均分子量(Mn)は5,000であり、PDMS2の数平均分子量(Mn)は10,000である。
容量0.5Lの反応槽に、単量体(b1)として21.6gのスチレン及び5.4gのアクリロニトリルと、単量体(b2)として1.0gのメタクリロキシポリジメチルシロキサンとを投入し、そこに280gの水と、分散剤として1.6gの第三リン酸カルシウム及び0.4gのヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースと、分子量調整剤として0.02gのα−メチルスチレンダイマーとを投入し、70℃に加温して30分攪拌する。
無極性ワックス(A)、単量体(b1)、単量体(b2)を、それぞれ表3,4に示す配合量に変更した以外は、実施例1−2−1−1と同様の操作を行って実施例1−2−2−1〜実施例1−2−4−1および比較例1−2−1−1〜比較例1−2−1−4の表面物性改良剤組成物を得た。
(実施例2−1−1−1)
ポリオレフィン樹脂として100gのブロックポリプロピレン(b-PP)と、表面物性改良剤組成物として3gの実施例1−1−1−1とをドライブレンドし、二軸押出機にてシリンダ温度200℃で溶融混練することにより、ポリオレフィン樹脂組成物を得た後、射出成形機にてJIS K 7113の1号形試験片の金型を使用し、シリンダ温度190℃、金型温度50℃にて成形することにより、実施例2−1−1−1のポリオレフィン樹脂成形体を得た。
表面物性改良剤組成物をそれぞれ実施例1−1−1−2〜実施例1−2−3−1および比較例1−1−1−1〜比較例1−2−1−3に変更する以外は、実施例2−1−1−1と同様の操作で実施例2−1−1−2〜実施例2−3−2−1および比較例2−2−1−1〜比較例2−2−2−3のポリオレフィン樹脂成形体を得た。
ポリオレフィン樹脂として100gのブロックポリプロピレン(b-PP)のみを使用する以外は、実施例2−1−1−1と同様の操作で比較例1−1−1−1のポリオレフィン樹脂成形体を得た。
表面物性改良剤組成物を、それぞれマイクロクリスタリンワックスおよびシリコーンオイルに変更する以外は、実施例2−1−1−1と同様の操作で比較例1−1−1−2および比較例1−1−1−3のポリオレフィン樹脂成形体を得た。
<ブリード>
ポリオレフィン樹脂成形体の表面を指でこすり、油膜が指に付着しなかった場合を○、付着した場合を×とした。
<成形性>
ポリオレフィン樹脂成形体の成形時に、シルバーストリーク、フローマーク、ヒケなどの一般的な成形不良が発生しなかった場合を○、発生した場合は×とした。
<機械物性>ポリオレフィン樹脂成形体をJIS K 7113に準じて引張試験を行い、強度低下が見られなかった場合を○、強度低下が見られた場合を×とした。
<初期擦傷性>
ポリオレフィン樹脂成形体を、カトーテック社製スクラッチテスター KK-01を使用し、ISO FDIS 19252に準じてスクラッチ荷重:1〜30N、スクラッチ距離:100mm、スクラッチ速度:100mm/sec、チップ:ステンレスφ=1.0mmにて試験を行った。
<耐擦傷性の熱安定性>
ポリオレフィン樹脂成形体を120℃の送風機能付き恒温槽に120時間静置した後、23℃50%RHの恒温槽に24時間以上状態調節したものを初期擦傷性の評価と同様の操作にて試験を行った。
Claims (4)
- 融点が50〜100℃の無極性ワックス(A)50〜90質量部と、二種類の単量体(b1)・(b2)を共重合して得られるビニル共重合体(B)10〜50質量部とを含有し、(A)+(B)=100質量部であり、
前記ビニル共重合体(B)を構成する一方の単量体(b1)は、スチレン及び/又はアクリロニトリルであり、
他方の単量体(b2)は、下記一般式(1)で表されるメタクリロキシポリオルガノシロキサンであり、
前記ビニル共重合体(B)は、(b1)+(b2)=10〜50質量部となる範囲で、前記単量体(b1)を0.1〜49.9質量部、前記単量体(b2)を0.1〜9.9質量部含有する、ポリオレフィン樹脂からなる成形体の表面物性改良剤組成物。
