図2及び図3に例示されるように、カセット組立体26と、そこに相互接続された多数の管/採取組立体28、30、32、34、36、38とを備える、予め接続された体外管回路10が示される。好ましくは、脱血/返血管組立体28は、(2本針の設定もまた使用され得るが)ドナーと管回路10の残りの部分との間にシングルニードル接続を提供する。ドナーからの血液の取り出し及びドナーへの成分の返送のために、少なくとも2つのライン42、44が組立体28に設けられる(図3を参照)。この実施形態は、ドナーが接続される管組立体28と、カセット組立体26と血液処理容器12との間にインターフェースを構成する血液入口/血液成分出口管ラインサブ組立体32との間に相互接続されるカセット組立体26を含む。ライン40は、処理容器12に血液を移送する。処理容器12からの血液及び成分の移送のための3つのライン46、48、50が、図2及び図3に示される。この実施形態では、抗凝血剤管組立体30、血漿採取管・バッグ組立体36、赤血球採取組立体38、及びベントバッグ管ラインサブ組立体34もまた、カセット組立体26に相互接続されている。一回使い切り用のための、密封され且つ予め滅菌された使い捨て組立体を構成するように、体外管回路10及び血液処理容器12は、予め相互接続されることが好ましい。
アフェレーシスプロセスのプライミング及び種々の他の動作は、上に列挙した特許に記載されるように実行されることが好ましい。脱血において、全血は、ドナーから脱血/返血管組立体28の管ライン42を通り、次いで、血液成分分離装置6に移送される。抗凝血剤ライン100へと続くポンプ係合ループ上のポンプの作用によって制御されながら、抗凝血剤(図示せず)が、抗凝血剤管組立体30を通って添加されてもよい。装置6では、血液は、ループ88(図3を参照)を介してポンピングされ、カセット組立体26と血液入口/血液成分管組立体32のライン40とを介して(図2及び図3参照)、処理容器12へ送られる。次いで、容器12において、実質的に連続的に分離処理が行われる。すなわち、血液がその中に流入し、分離され、分離成分としてそこから流出する。容器12での分離処理の後で(分離は連続的に生じているが)、採取されなかった血液成分は、所定レベルに達するまで処理容器12からカセット組立体26を通ってカセット26の貯血槽58(図2及び図3参照)に移送され、そのレベルにおいて、シングルニードル動作の血液成分分離装置6が、(連続的なシステムではその必要はないが)脱血サブモードを停止し、これらの未採取及び/又は処理された成分がドナーに戻される返血サブモードを開始する。そうして、これらの蓄積した成分を、ポンプ係合ループを通って脱血/返血管組立体28の血液返送配管44にポンプで送り、ドナーに戻すことができる。シングルニードル血液返送モードにおいては、貯血槽58に蓄積した返血成分が所定レベルに低下するまで取り出されると、血液成分分離装置6が、自動的に返血サブモードを停止する。これはまた、好ましくは、脱血サブモードを再開するか又は継続するように自動的に機能する。次いで、所定量の採取された血液成分が採取されるまで、脱血サブモードと返血サブモードとのサイクルが継続される。当該技術分野において既知であるように、2本針による方式では、血液はドナーから連続的に取り出すことができ、血液成分をドナーに連続的に戻すことができる。例えば、ポンプの制御を含む、そのような動作のための詳細な機構については、本明細書には図示又は詳述しない。
上述のシステム2を利用して、ドナーに対してアフェレーシス手順を行うために従うべき好ましい1つの手続について、ここでまとめる。最初に、操作者は、血液成分分離装置6内及び/又は血液成分分離装置6上に、使い捨てプラスチック組立体8を装填する。本手続によれば、操作者は、血液成分分離装置6上のフックに種々のバッグを吊るす。1つが使用される場合、操作者は、装置6上にカセット組立体26を装填し、及び/又は装置6の遠心ロータ組立体20に取り付けられる導管筐体18内に血液処理容器12を装填する。

を備え、
前記血液成分経路は、前記血液処理容器の第2の出口に流体結合され、保存場所(58)又は前記赤血球経路に選択的に流体結合され、さらに前記血液成分経路は、前記出口と前記フィルタとの間で前記赤血球経路に結合されることを特徴とする装置。 - 請求項4記載の装置において、前記保存場所は、ドナーに流体を戻すための手段(8)に流体接続されることを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項4記載の装置において、前記保存場所は、成分採取バッグを含むことを特徴とする装置。
