本願は、2010年6月8日出願の米国特許仮出願第61/352,822号の利益を主張するものであり、そして2010年1月20日出願の米国特許仮出願第61/296,784号の利益及び2009年6月1日出願の米国特許仮出願第61/183,030号の利益を主張する、2010年6月1日出願の米国特許出願第12/791,654号の一部継続出願でもある。
意外なことに、或る種のバイオ燃料、とりわけ最も強い侵食性のバイオ燃料、例えば、B20と表示されるものなどに対して、上記に示された実施形態は充分でないことが見出された。「B20」はバイオディーゼル20%と石油ベースのディーゼル燃料80%との混合物を意味する。同様に「B100」はバイオディーゼル100%を意味し、その他も同様である。B20はB100より燃料ホースに対してずっと強い侵食性であるので、目標にした高温性能、例えば、目標の透過率などは、管及び/又はカバー材料にECO又はNBRゴム配合物を用いた燃料ホースによっては達成されないことが見出された。かかるホースは100℃以下の温度での使用に限定されなければならなかった。とりわけ、このことは高圧かつ高温の要件を伴う燃料噴射ホースに当てはまる。他の強い侵食性の燃料は以下を含む:

- SAE J 1737に従って試験された場合に40℃で1g/m2/日未満のB20バイオ燃料に対する透過性及び40℃で約1g/m2/日以下のガソリンに対する透過性の少なくとも1つを有する請求項9に記載のホース。
- 少なくとも所定の長さの請求項1に記載のホースと、
少なくとも1つの付属品、クランプ、又は流体処理装置を備えるホースシステム。
