Description
この発明による高周波放電点火装置は、火花放電経路生成装置で作る高電圧により点火プラグのギャップ間に火花放電を発生させ、加えて、火花放電経路に昇圧した大きな高周波電流を流し込むことで、点火プラグのギャップ間に大きな放電プラズマを形成させることに基づいて、点火プラグのギャップ間に安定して、高周波電流を流しこむことができる。
して所定の間隙である主プラグギャップを介して対向する第2の電極としての接地側外側電極101bを備えている。昇圧装置124の効果により、高周波電源119の出力電圧を昇圧できるため、高周波用電源電圧130を、例えば、直流80V〜200V以下程度に低くすることができる。これにより、高周波電源119に用いる素子として、汎用の安価な部品を使用することができる。
また、点火コイル装置(火花放電経路生成装置)102で発生させた高電圧は、昇圧装置124を介さないで点火プラグ101の第1の電極に供給されるため、回路構成が全体として簡単になる。
なお、この発明は、その発明の範囲内において、実施の形態を適宜、変形、省略することが可能である。

Claims (4)
- 間隙を介して対向する高圧側第1の電極と接地側第2の電極とを有し、前記間隙に火花放電を発生して内燃機関の燃焼室内の可燃混合気を点火させる点火プラグと、
高電圧を発生させ、発生させた高電圧を前記第1の電極に供給して前記間隙に火花放電の経路を形成させる火花放電経路生成装置と、
交流電流の電圧を昇圧する昇圧装置と、
前記昇圧装置を介し、前記間隙に形成された火花放電の経路に交流電流を供給する高周波電流供給装置とを備え、
前記昇圧装置は、前記高周波電流供給装置の出力に接続されるインダクタと、
前記インダクタと前記点火プラグの第2の電極と同電位となる接地間に接続され、前記インダクタと共振回路を構成するコンデンサBと、
前記インダクタと前記点火プラグの第1の電極との間に接続されるコンデンサAと、により構成され、
前記昇圧装置により、前記高周波電流供給装置の出力電圧を昇圧して、前記点火プラグへ高周波電流を投入可能なようにしたことを特徴とする点火装置。 - 前記コンデンサAは、50ピコファラド以下の容量値を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の点火装置。
- 前記コンデンサBは、50ピコファラド以下の容量値を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の点火装置。
- 前記昇圧装置は、4MHz以下の共振周波数を有することを特徴とする請求項1,請求項2及び請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。
