Rodney Chiu et al.)により2004年11月12日に出願された同時係属中の米国特許出願第10/987,921号、「除害プロセス中の粒子付着を減じるための反応器ー設計(Reactor Design to Reduce Particle Deposition During Process Abatement」に開示された改善された熱反応ユニットは、これらに限られるものではないが、CF4、C2F6、SF6、C3F8、C4F8、C4F8O、SiF4、BF3、BH3、B2H6、B5H9、NH3、PH3、SiH4、SeH2、F2、Cl2、HCl、HF、HBr、WF6、H2、Al(CH3)3、アルコール、O3、NF3及びClF3等の酸化剤、第1級及び第2級アミン、酸ガス、オルガノシラン、有機金属及びハロシランをはじめとする少なくとも95%、好ましくは少なくとも99%の廃物成分を除害する。重要なのは、改善された熱反応ユニットの分解除去効率(DRE)が99%を超え、熱反応ユニット内での酸化ケイ素等の不要の反応生成物の付着を減じるように設計されていることである。
従って、従業員の安全を確保し、除害プロセスの効率を改善するために、熱反応器用の改善された安全なモニタリング及び制御機構が提供されると有利である。
一態様において、本発明は、(a)熱反応チャンバを有する熱反応器と、(b)燃料ガスを中に導入するための熱反応チャンバと流体連通している少なくとも1つの燃料入口と、(c)熱反応チャンバに、又は熱反応チャンバ内に配置されたパイロット火炎デバイスと、(d)熱反応チャンバに、又は熱反応チャンバ内に配置された少なくとも1つのバーナージェットであって、少なくとも1つの燃料入口が少なくとも1つのバーナージェットと流体連通しているバーナージェットと、(e)廃液を導入するための熱反応チャンバと流体連通している少なくとも1つの廃液入口と、(f)コントローラと、(g)火炎センサ、火炎ガスセンサ及び燃料ブースタからなる群より選択される少なくとも1つの追加のコンポーネントとを含む廃液から汚染物質を除去するための装置に関する。
本発明のその他の態様及び利点は、以下の開示内容及び特許請求の範囲からより完全に明白となる。
更に他の実施形態において、熱除害反応器は高性能除害のために修正される。一般的に言って、本実施形態は、ある期間にわたって熱反応器に入る廃物の量を定量する。本発明以前は、リアルタイムで、どのくらいの廃物が熱反応器により処理されたか判断することはできなかった。熱反応器の重要項目を応答可能に調整して、除害性能を最良にし、且つ操作コストを下げるため、リアルタイム情報は極めて有利なものである。
Claims (8)
- 熱除害システムであって、
コントローラと、
廃ガスストリーム入口を含み、前記コントローラにより制御されるように用いられる熱反応チャンバと、
前記熱反応チャンバに、又は前記熱反応チャンバ内に配置された少なくとも1つのバーナージェットと、
前記熱反応チャンバへ通じる管を含む火炎センサと、
前記熱反応チャンバ内の前記管の第1の端部に配置されたパイロット火炎デバイスを備え、
前記火炎センサは、前記熱反応チャンバ外の前記管の第2の端部に配置され、前記コントローラに結合され、前記コントローラに前記パイロット火炎デバイスが発火したかどうかを情報伝達するように用いられ、
前記火炎センサは前記管の開閉のために操作可能なアクチュエータを含み、前記アクチュエータが、前記管を閉じたときに、前記火炎センサに熱反応チャンバからの放射線が達するのを防ぐこと、前記管の開放状態と閉鎖状態をサイクルさせること、又はそれらの両方のうち少なくとも1つに用いられる熱除害システム。 - 前記コントローラが、前記火炎センサからの前記情報に基づいて前記熱反応チャンバを操作するように用いられる請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記アクチュエータが前記管の開放状態と閉鎖状態をサイクルさせるように用いられ、前記コントローラが、前記管の実際の状態を、前記火炎センサからの前記情報と比較することによって前記火炎センサを試験するように用いられる請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記少なくとも1つのバーナージェットは、燃料を前記熱反応チャンバに提供し、前記パイロット火炎デバイスにより発火されるように用いられ、
前記火炎センサが、前記少なくとも1つのバーナージェットが発火されるかどうか前記コントローラに情報伝達するように更に用いられ、前記コントローラが、前記少なくとも1つのバーナージェットが発火されるかどうかに基づいて、前記熱反応チャンバをシャットダウンするように用いられる請求項1記載のシステム。 - 前記火炎センサは紫外光センサである請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記アクチュエータは前記管の開放状態と閉鎖状態をサイクルさせるように用いられ、前記アクチュエータは30秒間開き、3〜5秒間閉じる請求項3記載のシステム。
- 前記熱除害システムは、前記熱反応チャンバの外部に位置する排気筐体内に位置する可燃性ガスセンサを含む請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記熱除害システムは、
少なくとも2つの本質安全バリアを有し、前記熱反応チャンバの外部に位置する排気筐体内に位置する可燃性ガスセンサを含み、前記2つの本質安全バリアの一方がツェナーダイオードを含み、前記2つの本質安全バリアの他方がポテンショメータアイソレータを含む請求項1記載のシステム。
