Description
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る液晶表示装置に搭載される液晶表示パネルの一例を説明するための概略平面図である。液晶表示装置は、第1基板であるアレイ基板1と第2基板であるカラーフィルタ基板2とが液晶50を介して互いに対向配置されたアクティブマトリックス型の液晶表示パネル100を有する。アレイ基板1は、ガラス、プラスチック等の透明基板上に、ゲート配線、ソース配線、TFT、及び画素電極、基準電位となる透明コモン電極等が形成されている。カラーフィルタ基板2は、ガラス、プラスチック等の透明基板上に、カラーフィルタ、遮光層であるブラックマトリックス等が形成されている。
次に、上記第1実施形態とは異なる構造の液晶表示装置の一例について説明する。なお、以降の説明において、上記第1実施形態と同一の要素部材は同一の符号を付し、適宜その説明を省略する。
第3実施形態に係る液晶表示装置は、以下の点を除く基本的な構造が上記実施形態1と同様である。すなわち、第3実施形態においては、ソース配線、及び透明コモン電極を直線状としている点、上記第1実施形態と相違する。

Claims (8)
- 第1基板と第2基板間に液晶が封止された液晶表示パネルであって、
前記第1基板は、
ゲート配線と、
前記ゲート配線に交差して形成されるソース配線と、
前記ゲート配線と前記ソース配線の交差近傍に配設されるスイッチング素子と、
前記ゲート配線と前記ソース配線によって規定される複数のマトリックス状に配置された画素領域と、
前記スイッチング素子に接続される透明画素電極と、
枝状電極部と、前記枝状電極部間の隙間部とを少なくとも有し、前記透明画素電極の上層に、絶縁膜を介して所定領域が前記透明画素電極と重畳するように配設され、前記透明画素電極とともに前記液晶を駆動する透明コモン電極と、を具備し、
黒表示の際に、表示領域に配設された非透過性の導電パターンの近傍において前記液晶の配向不良により正面視において光漏れが生じる導電パターンの少なくとも一部に、平面視上、これを覆い、かつ、突出する庇を有する遮光層が配設されており、
前記庇を有する遮光層と重畳配置された前記導電パターンに対し、当該導電パターンと前記液晶側で重畳するように配置され、かつ、前記庇を有する遮光層よりも、平面視において突出するように前記透明コモン電極が配設されており、
非透過性の前記導電パターンの端部近傍において、前記透明コモン電極表面に形成される段差を備え、
前記遮光層は、前記段差よりも外側に形成される前記透明コモン電極表面の平坦部と重なる領域まで延在されている液晶表示パネル。 - 前記庇を有する遮光層と、当該遮光層より突出する前記透明コモン電極が配設されている前記導電パターンは、前記ソース配線、前記ゲート配線、前記透明コモン電極に電位を供給する共通配線、及び前記スイッチング素子の少なくともいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記庇は、3.0μm以上であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記透明コモン電極は、幅方向両端部において、前記ソース配線上方の遮光層よりも2.5μm以上、突出していることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第1基板の外側主面には、偏光子を有する第1偏光板が、
前記第2基板の外側主面には、偏光子を有する第2偏光板が配設されており、
前記偏光子と前記液晶の間の少なくとも一方に、2軸位相差フィルムが配設されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示パネル。 - 前記ソース配線、前記透明コモン電極の枝状電極部、及び前記隙間部は、其々の前記画素領域において、「く」の字型に屈曲した構造であることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記遮光層は、ブラックマトリックスであり、前記第2基板に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示パネルが搭載された液晶表示装置。
