Description
先ず、本発明に係る電気光学装置の実施形態について、図1及び図2を参照して説明する。尚、本実施形態では、電気光学装置の一例として、駆動回路内蔵型のアクティブマトリックス駆動方式の液晶装置を挙げる。
次に、本発明に係る電気光学装置の製造方法の実施形態を、図6を参照して説明する。図6は、本実施形態に係る液晶装置の製造方法の一部の工程を示す工程断面図である。
次に、図7を参照しながら、上述した液晶装置を電子機器の一例であるプロジェクターに適用した場合を説明する。上述した液晶装置は、プロジェクターのライトバルブとして用いられている。図7は、プロジェクターの構成例を示す平面図である。
Claims (6)
- 複数の画素が配列されてなる画素領域の周囲に配置された光硬化型のシール材によって一対の基板が相互に接着されてなる電気光学装置であって、
前記一対の基板の一方の基板上に、
該一方の基板上で平面的に見て、前記シール材と重なる領域に形成された複数の遮光層を備え、
前記シール材と重なる領域において、前記複数の遮光層のうち一の遮光層より上層側に形成された他の遮光層は、前記一方の基板上で平面的に見て、前記一の遮光層と重なると共に、前記他の遮光層の外形は、前記一方の基板上で平面的に見て、前記一の遮光層の内側に収まるように形成されていることを特徴とする電気光学装置。 - 前記複数の遮光層の各々は、前記一方の基板の前記複数の遮光層が形成された面とは反対側から入射する光が、前記シール材に到達するように設けられた開口部を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記開口部は、前記シール材と重なる領域における所定の面積内において、前記開口部が占める割合が前記シール材と重なる領域全体に亘って揃うように形成されていることを特徴とする請求項2記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記複数の遮光層は、電気光学動作のための配線、電極及び電子素子の少なくとも一部を構成する導電層を含むことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記複数の遮光層は、前記画素領域において画素毎に島状に形成された反射型の画素電極と同一膜から形成されたダミー配線を含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の電気光学装置。
- 請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置を具備することを特徴とする電子機器。
