Description
本発明の形態は、膜の1つまたは複数表面が常圧マイクロ波(APMW)プラズマにより修飾されている多孔性ポリマー膜を含む組成物を含む。プラズマ修飾膜は、非−濡れ破壊性であり、水中のMeOHの初めの溶液との接触で濡れることができる(APMWプラズマ修飾多孔性膜を接触湿潤するための初めの溶液における水中のMeOHの最少量が、接触が多孔性膜の未処理のそのままのサンプルを湿潤する参照または対照溶液における水中のMeOHの最少量よりも少ない。)。本発明の幾つかの形態において、この膜は、プラズマ発生デバイスの回転電極と接触しながら修飾される。この膜は、フィルターを含む、熱および物質移動用の種々の物品ならびに液体膜で使用することができる。

Claims (22)
- 常圧マイクロ波(APMW)プラズマで修飾された1つまたは複数の表面を有するハロゲン化ポリオレフィン多層微小孔膜を含んだ組成物であって、
前記膜は、
濾過層と、
支持層と
を含み、また前記膜は、非−濡れ破壊性(non−dewetting)であり、APMWプラズマで修飾されていない場合の多層微小孔膜の有する繊維方向(WD)強度および機械方向(MD)強度に対して少なくとも70%のWD強度およびMD強度を有し、かつ30ミクロン以下の厚さを有し、かつ0.06を超えるO/C比を有する1つまたは複数の表面を含み、水中の0.1ミクロン以下の粒子に対して少なくとも3のLRVを有する
ことを特徴とする、組成物。 - 前記ハロゲン化ポリオレフィンが、ポリテトラフルオロエチレンまたは修飾ポリテトラフルオロエチレンである、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記微小孔膜が、水中のMeOHの94重量%以下の溶液と接触湿潤可能であり、少なくとも19.7ニュートンのWD強度と、少なくとも22.2ニュートンのMD強度とを有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記微小孔膜が、水中のMeOHの96重量%以下の溶液と接触湿潤可能であり、水中で135℃の温度で40分間のオートクレーブ処理後に非−濡れ破壊性である、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1に記載の組成物を含むフィルター。
- 前記フィルターが、カルシウムおよびナトリウムを含む抽出性イオンを合計200ppb未満有する、請求項5に記載のフィルター。
- 前記微小孔膜が、0.06から0.08のO/C比を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記微小孔膜が、ガス含有液体に接触させた後に、前記ガスが前記微小孔膜の細孔から十分な液体を置換させないがゆえに、濡れた状態の微小孔膜の不透明性、圧損、または流動時間を25%を超えて増加させることがない、請求項1から4および7のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 常圧マイクロ波(APMW)プラズマで修飾された1つまたは複数の表面を有する多孔性ポリマー膜であって、
前記APMWプラズマで処理されていない多孔性ポリマー膜の強度の70%以上の強度を有し、
前記APMWプラズマで修飾された前記多孔性ポリマー膜を接触湿潤するためのメタノール水溶液は、前記APMWプラズマで処理されていない多孔性ポリマー膜を接触湿潤するためのメタノール水溶液よりも、メタノールの量が1重量%以上少なく、
ハロゲン化ポリオレフィンを含む
ことを特徴とする、多孔性ポリマー膜。 - 前記APMWプラズマで修飾された前記多孔性ポリマー膜のO/C比が、0.06と0.08の間である、請求項9に記載の多孔性ポリマー膜。
- 前記APMWプラズマで修飾された前記多孔性ポリマー膜が、メタノールの96重量%以下の水溶液と周囲貯蔵の10日後に接触湿潤可能である、請求項9に記載の多孔性ポリマー膜。
- 常圧マイクロ波(APMW)プラズマにより、ハロゲン化ポリオレフィンを含む多孔性ポリマー膜の接触湿潤性を改変するための方法であって、
前記多孔性ポリマー膜を、APMWプラズマと接触させるステップと、
前記多孔性ポリマー膜の一つまたは複数の表面を、前記APMWプラズマで処理するステップと
を含み、
前記多孔性ポリマー膜の前記APMWプラズマへの接触が、処理された前記多孔性ポリマー膜が非−濡れ破壊性(non−dewetting)となり、前記多孔性ポリマー膜の平均強度が未処理の多孔性ポリマー膜の強度の70%未満に減少しないように、処理された前記多孔性ポリマー膜の接触湿潤性が増加するまで続けられる
ことを特徴とする、方法。 - 処理された前記多孔性ポリマー膜が、ガス含有液体に接触させた後に、前記ガスが前記多孔性ポリマー膜の細孔から十分な液体を置換させないがゆえに、濡れた状態の多孔性ポリマー膜の不透明性、圧損、または流動時間を25%を超えて増加させることがない、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記ハロゲン化ポリオレフィンがポリテトラフルオロエチレンまたは修飾ポリテトラフルオロエチレンである、請求項12または13に記載の方法。
- 前記APMWプラズマが酸素源を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記酸素源が、水蒸気、アルコール、空気およびこれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記常圧マイクロ波プラズマが貴ガスを含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記処理された多孔性ポリマー膜が、周囲貯蔵の10日後に、メタノールの96重量%以下の水溶液と接触湿潤可能である、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記多孔性ポリマー膜を支持層に結合またはひだ付けするステップをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 請求項12に記載の方法により作成される、常圧マイクロ波(APMW)プラズマで処理した多孔性ポリマー膜。
- 前記濾過層と前記支持層とがともに、共押出し、ラミネート、結合、または溶融結合されている、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記濾過層と前記支持層とがともにひだ付けされている、請求項1に記載の組成物。
