Claims (6)
- 吸気弁により開閉される開口部を有しタンブル流を生成する吸気ポートと排気弁により開閉される開口部を有する排気ポートとの間で気筒内に点火部が臨まされた点火プラグと、
前記吸気ポートよりも反排気ポート側で気筒内に噴口が臨まされた燃料噴射弁と、
少なくとも前記吸気弁の燃焼サイクル毎の最大リフト量を可変に切換可能な可変動弁機構と、
前記吸気ポートの反排気ポート側の前記開口部の一部領域において前記吸気弁のリフト方向に立設され、当該吸気弁が設定リフト量以下の低リフト状態にあるとき前記吸気ポートの反排気ポート側の前記開口部の開放を一部禁止するマスク部と、
エンジンの運転領域が始動直後のファーストアイドル領域にあるとき、前記可変動弁機構による前記吸気弁の最大リフト量を当該吸気弁が前記マスク部を超えるリフト量であって、前記吸気弁のリフト前半行程において前記排気ポート側の前記開口部から導入される吸気により正タンブル流を生成し、前記吸気弁のリフト後半行程において前記正タンブル流に加え、前記反排気ポート側の前記開口部から導入される吸気により逆タンブル流を生成し、該逆タンブル流の強さを、前記正タンブル流の強さに比して制限する中リフト量に設定するとともに、前記燃料噴射弁による燃料噴射タイミングを圧縮行程に設定する制御手段とを備えたことを特徴とする筒内噴射エンジン。 - 前記制御手段は、エンジンの運転領域が予め設定された低速高負荷領域にあるとき、前記可変動弁機構による前記吸気弁の最大リフト量を前記中リフト量に設定するとともに、前記燃料噴射弁による燃料噴射タイミングを吸気行程に設定することを特徴とする請求項1記載の筒内噴射エンジン。
- 前記制御手段は、エンジンの運転領域が予め設定された低速低負荷領域にあるとき、前記可変動弁機構による前記吸気弁の最大リフト量を当該吸気弁が前記マスク部を超えない低リフト量に設定するとともに、前記燃料噴射弁による燃料噴射タイミングを吸気行程に設定することを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の筒内噴射エンジン。
- 前記制御手段は、エンジンの運転領域が予め設定された低速低負荷領域にあるとき、前記可変動弁機構による前記吸気弁の作動タイミングを進角化するとともに、前記可変動弁機構による前記排気弁の作動タイミングを遅角化することを特徴とする請求項3記載の筒内噴射エンジン。
- 前記制御手段は、エンジンの運転領域が予め設定された高速高負荷領域にあるとき、前記可変動弁機構による前記吸気弁の最大リフト量を前記中リフト量よりも高い高リフト量に設定するとともに、前記燃料噴射面による燃料噴射タイミングを吸気行程に設定することを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項4の何れか1項に記載の筒内噴射エンジン。
- 前記制御手段は、エンジンの運転領域が予め設定された高速高負荷領域にあるとき、前記可変動弁機構による前記吸気弁の作動タイミングを遅角化するとともに、前記可変動弁機構による前記排気弁の作動タイミングを進角化することを特徴とする請求項5記載の筒内噴射エンジン。
